Dinner for a Large Group

Hi there!

Long time reader, first time poster - very exciting! I'm going to be attending a conference at the Coronado Springs in March, and I'm having some difficulty scheduling dinners for a large group. We have a party of 14 and it seems that nowhere on property (according to WDW Dine line) can accommodate this party size without splitting the tables up, even with a reservation.

Any suggestions on large group venues on property that you've had success scheduling a large group at?

To be honest, part of your problem is the 2 months notice. If you were booking further out, you would have a better shot. But blocking that many seats is best done at 180 days, and the cancels they see at 60-45-30 and week of are not going to typically see that scale.

Have you called the group dining line?

Well, since March is next month, those reservations have been bookable to quite a long time. As such, pickings will be slim no matter the numbers and 14 would be very very difficult at this point. Especially since you seem to be against booking separate tables. You can't be picky at this point.

I hadn't thought about the two months notice, but that's great to remember for next time. We just got a final count of attendees last week so I suppose we will have to go with what we can get. I've called the group dining line, and while they all say the space is available at each I've called, the prices just seem a bit outrageous per person when doing a set menu - there's no way my company would approve the rate at a minimum of $70 per person.

Are you trying to entertain clients by chance? If so, offsite at Bull and Bear or Hemingway's might be the way to go, but the under $70 for client entertainment would probably be impossible.

Even at 180+10 we had to split a few reservations to get the desired restaurant at the desired time.

Your best bet might be calling a Disney Springs location directly. I scheduled my group of 17 about two months out at Raglan Road last March that way. Mind you, it was for a Friday night and they warned me right up front that it would have to be somewhat early (5:30) because they already had several large groups booked.
