Where to book 18 people for dinner on Christmas Day. Is it possible that no restuarants will be available? Is there a place to enter out grand gathering # when making on-line ADR's?

Thanks ahead of time for the responses...:goodvibes

You cannot make online ADRs for big groups. You have to call.

That said, you should be able to eat somewhere. They are great at accomodating big groups.

Biergarten has big tables, and other places will group you together at several tables.

Tutto Italia and Garden Grill are bad for big groups, as you have to call directly and they aren't very accomodating (ask me how I know, sigh.)
And 1900 Park Faire is TERRIBLE at seating big groups...run the other direction from this one!

We had a group of 13 at LTT, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, and 'Ohana, and all were GREAT at helping us get situated.

Happy Planning!

So unfortunately, no you cannot book any reservation for a party of more than 10 online...but you will find the CMs very helpful when trying to book a large party.
I am coordinating our family trip (25 people) for next month. I was able to get ressies for Akershus for 16 and 'Ohana for 25 for the exact times I wanted. They recommended either 'Ohana or Boma when booking for 25.

Enjoy your trip! I would love to do Disney at Christmastime one year....

43 days and counting...

Our group wants to eat two meals together, one early week and the other on Christmas day...other than that everyone is on their own for eating. So I am going to make my groups ADR's online and then call at 7am to book the large group ADR's...Thinking Ohana's or Chef Mickey's early week and maybe Coral Reef for Christmas Day. Would that we a good choice? With 8 kids...I'm trying to pick things they will enjoy.

Loved reading your tips. We have Ohana, CP, and CM's booked, for our party of 14, during our Dec. trip. Any thoughts, or experience with LE Cellier, WCC, Prime Time, or Mama Melrose?

We've done Le Cellier with a party of 13 in '07 and a party of 10 this year. They are also very accomodating. It really helps to have first seating.
I also like that the servers sing before seating the first seating...that's a little WDW secret. ;)
Love, love, love the food at Le Cellier. My mom says she'll never go back to WDW as she's 70 now, but that she'd fly back just to eat there once more. LOL
I have not eaten at the others, but I think friends have done a bigger party at both Prime time and WCC. My brother's family just loved WCC, but we have not tried it yet. Maybe next trip???
I hear issues with Mama Melrose's, so probably not a good choice, but you could make a separate post on that one.

Happy planning!

ETA: Love seeing all of your kids...we don't see many other families with more than 3! :)

Both 'ohana and Chef Mickey's are a great choice. I have not been to Coral Reef, but I think they have smaller seating, but if you don't mind being divided at nearby tables, I would think they would be fine.

We love Le Cellier, too. We have eaten there, on our past three trips and the other family we are traveling with, requested it. I'm happy we were able to get it. I had to book a party of 10 and a party of 4. It is such a tiny place, that we are hoping to be, in close proximity to each other.
The other place we had to do that at, was Prime Time. WCC,Ohana,CM's and CP's, are all for a party of 14.

Thanks for the nice comment, on our kiddos. We never anticipated having five, but we love our big family. Although, we are done. Congrats to you! I know your days are blessed!

Can I enter our grand gathering number when making on-line ADR's? Does the number mean anything when booking ADR's? What does the number really do for me? Can I book for 8 and change it later to more people?

Thanks again for all the help.

Ohana is a great place for a large party of 18. There are no menus to deal with or ordering other than drinks. They frequently use the large area in the middle of the activity walkway for such parties and it always looks and feels so festive... not haphazardly put-together tables.

Online will ony accept up to, I think 10, and I'm not sure if the GG # helps on there with anything.

I always call. The GG CMs on the phone are great for helping.

Changing your number of guests may result in losing your ADR, as they book by number.

No you cannot enter the GG # when booking online. I booked a few of our smaller meals online and there was nowhere to enter it.
I have found over the past few months the biggest benefit to having a GG is insuring all guest's rooms are booked near each other at our resort.

1) As others said, you have to call.
2) GG does not relly help when making any ADR's, on-line or phone-in.
3) If there is room, there is room, else not.
4) Plus, you cannot book "10" then add "8" later - doesn't work that way.
5) Best just to pick up the phone and hope for the best.
6) Christmas Week is tough for big groups.
7) And Christmas Day is really tough for big groups.
8) There is just so much competition to get ADR's.
9) Christmas Week is the busiest week at WDW !

Thanks so much for the reply...very much appreciated :worship: The other couples we are traveling with have never been to disney world  ..so we are classified as the pros and in charge of getting everything lined up. We told them that the parks are going to be packed, but I don't think they realize how packed. Anyway, I'll do the best I can making ADR's but we might have to settle for Christmas breakfast in our hotel food court. :santa:. Thanks again and happy travels to everyone!

All the restaurants should be able to accommodate 18, it is getting the reservation for Christmas day that will be a problem. That is a VERY busy time of year for Disney.
