I have no ADR's booked on 7th or 8th November and I'm thinking of cancelling WCC on 31st October, so I have some TS credits. After reading the Dis, I have decided that I would like to watch Wishes from a distance, preferably after dinner with a cocktail in my hand and away from the crowds.

O'Hana is looking unlikely, so is there anywhere you would recommend?

Naccoossees at the GF is nice and is 2TS. Or Kona and watch Wishes from the Poly beach

If you want to avoid crowds, you'll definitely want to write off the California Grill. The furore there around Wishes completely ruins dinner service for me. Narcoossee's is a much more civilised affair. If you're lucky enough to get a window seat, you can just stay seated, otherwise you can go out to the verandah with your drink.

If you really want to get away from it all, have an earlier dinner at one of the MK resorts and then get a drink "to go" from one of the bars or lounges and wander down to a quiet spot in the grounds. If you time it right, you'll also be able to take in the Electrical Water Pageant from the the beaches of the Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness or the Poly, but the beaches aren't the only places to get a view of Wishes.

We've opted to try california grill on halloween for the first time and will hopefully see hallowishes from there.

Have you got GF cafe on your list or kona? - both supposed to be very nice and you can see fireworks from the beach.

Thank you:)
I'm off to peruse the menus at GF, Fort Wilderness and the Poly.

We had the best meal of our trip in May in Narcoosee's, we timed it so we had our starter and main and then took our drinks out onto the deck (even though we did have a window seat) to watch the fireworks. I have to say watching the fireworks from there was one of the absolute highlights of the holiday!

As others have said Narcoosees is lovely.

We have also eaten at the GF cafe and then watched wishes from the marina with a drink. We hav also enjoyed eating at the poly and then watching from the beach. (Again with a cocktail!) :)

We first went to Cali grill on 31st October 2010 and watched Hallowishes from the viewing platform it was amazing - we spent the last night of our trip this year at the Cali Grill and watched wishes at 10pm - once again and amazing spectacle - we enjoyed our wine, chatting to other guests and watching a dam good fireworks show! Gutted that the restaurant will probably still be closed for our next visit in Aug 2013.

Whilst there were a number of people outside on the observation platforms I would hardly call it a crowd and view is stunning. I therefore have to disagree with UK Deb - I would not write Cali Grill off. We love it here - in fact we watched the water patent and illuminations from our dining table before taking our drinks outside for wishes

..... On that note I have to watch my Wishes video with Jimeney Cricket again as I have come over all nostalgic remembering our last magical night from our 2012 trip.

Nice to hear you had a great time. Fingers crossed our night is as magical.

I love watching Wishes from the Poly beach esp from a Hammock.

No, I suppose the point is that we all enjoy different things. Although I wouldn't go as far as to say that I haven't appreciated the fireworks from the viewing platform, I don't particularly like having my meal interrupted for it. More to the point (for me) the whole restaurant comes to a standstill and that isn't pleasurable if you prefer not to join in with the revelry. California Grill is such a special experience that I think it's a shame for it to be overshadowed by Wishes. I do understand that it's a big selling point, but from my perspective it is a cattle market up there because of it. At least, that's been my experience on multiple occasions. I prefer an earlier dinner at CG without all the fuss and to then take in Wishes from a quieter spot. Having said that, I think everyone should experience it for themselves and make up their own minds. If you do opt for (or have to settle for) an earlier seating, you're permitted to return for Wishes viewing if you choose.

We love watching wishes from CG but there is something more romantic about seeing them from the beach at the poly. We grabbed a couple of loungers and watched hallo wishes which is spectacular from that vantage point.

If you go out on the far side platform at CG then it's far less crowded than the one off the main restaurant.

Narcoosees and Cali Grill are both 2ts, aren't they? Not sure that my 3 kids would appreciate more formal dining:confused3 I'll still go and check out the menus.:thumbsup2

Don't be put off signatures with children - there will honestly be lots of children there.

We did yachtsman when DD was 4 and had a lovely time. They still get the menu with puzzles and colouring on. Kids food tends to be better - my DD still remembers the paint your own mickey puzzle dessert there.

I could do a 2ts meal as I'm thinking of cancelling WCC, Chef Mickey's and 1900Park Fare.

Just need to decide where would be a nice place to eat with a view of Wishes.:confused3

We're hoping to watch Wishes from Poly beach (with a cocktail!) on our first night, and from CG on our last night. And then watch them in the park at the MNSSHP.

Nowhere will be to everyones taste and so we all need to make our own decisions :goodvibes I've definately heard some poor reviews on CSR and some of our restaurant choices, but I like to make my own mind up! :)

Xx
