We did Liberty Tree before MVMCP and I would do it again in a second. 
It was 6 adults, (one of which had just returned from the middle east service his country) 
We had two children DGD(5) DGS(1 1/2). We had a super great time, the food was very good and the kids loved it. The character interaction was Fantastic! Minnie had on a dress, apron and cap in Christmas colors, the rest had on Christmas scarves and/or hats. My entire family stills talks about this dinner. It was in late November of 2007 and our first meal at WDW. Everyone flew in that day.
The food is service family style and they refill anything you ask for. It was great to sit and relax, visit, and enjoy rather then getting up and down for a buffet. Hope this help to reassure you.
