So, I'm soliciting opinions here. My family has changed our schedule at bit and decided to start our vacation on a Sunday and spend 1/2 day at MK (then take a break day in the middle, as opposed to spending 5 days straight at the parks). So, the Sunday we're going MK has EMH, but we probably won't stay that late-we have an early morning ressie on Monday.

But, where should we eat dinner? The only place we've eaten in MK for TS is CP and that was breakfast. I've read really bad reviews of Tony's, so I'm hesistant to try that. If you have a recommendation or a place to stay away from please say why you liked or didn't like it. What types of things are on the menu/buffet?

We'd also be open to trying a resort in the MK area. Perhaps 1900 PF? I've heard the characters are great there. We have FD, so not concerned about price-though we won't be doing CG-too fancy for the kids.

have you tried Kona or O'hana at the Poly? I don't really care for the TS at MK but if you want to stay in the park I would suggest The Plaza. Nothing fancy but it is a nice quiet TS (at least it was when we went :)). You should take a peek at the menu section here or at allears.net.

The best place to have dinner in MK is Crystal Palace. We love it, good food, (which you can check out the menu on allears.net) and the characters a great too.

I will say that Tony's isn't bad, I know it gets a bad rap here on the boards but we thought it was good.

LTT is also good for dinner. I prefer CP over it, but DH prefers LTT over CP. Really both are winners.

You can take the boat from MK to Wilderness Lodge and try Whispering Canyon. Great food and a really fun atmosphere. I also love any restaurant at the Poly. MK is not my fav of table service. I have heard great things about Crystal Palace.

Definitely look at the menus at http://allears.net/din/dining.htm

Have a great time!party:

One of our favorite dinners at Disney is O'Hana. The food is delish & there are fun activities for the kids (coconut racing & dancing). I would choose that for dinner :thumbsup2
We do also like CP and 1900 PF (both good buffets) and the kids always enjoy eating with the characters.

My first choice would be O'hana with Whispering Canyon as a close runner up. I haven't been to Kona's yet but I've been wanting to. Avoid Cinderellas Castle...over priced for pretty ho hum food.

Plus if your goal is to take a "break" for lunch I really do recommend you head to one of the hotels. Get away from the crowds and the chaos. The only problem being that O'hana isn't open for lunch I believe.

I recommend going over to the Polynesian and eating at Ohana!!

Inside the MK, we like Liberty Tree Tavern. There is also Crystal palace, but we prefer that for breakfast. There is 'Ohana at the Polynesian, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian, Chef Mickey's at Contemporary.
