Dinner at MK

What is a good place for dinner at MK? We will do CS for lunch but will most likely want something sit down for dinner.

MK has only five TS restaurants. Two of those are character dinners (CRT and Crystal Palace). The Palace is mostly a sandwich-type place, and LTT is family-style "Thanksgiving dinner" all you can eat. Tony's Town Square is Italian, no characters. If none of those appeal, there are many varied restaurants in the Monorail resorts, a short distance from MK.

If your trip is between January 3 and February 15, Crystal Palace will be closed for renovations and LTT will have characters (same dinner menu it usually has).

Hop on the Monorail and eat at one of the hotels. For the same money you'll get a better meal at The Wave (Contemporary), Kona (Poly), or Grand Floridian Cafe. If cost is less of a concern, then go to Cali Grill, Citrico's or Narcoosees.

I'm not a fan of the sit-down places in MK, though it seems every restaurant has its fans and detractors. There are places that I find absolutely atrocious, but are on other people's "best of" lists.

My family greatly enjoys Tony's Town Square. On our trip last week we had 18 people with us and we ended up trying just about everything on the menu. Everyone said they'd like to go back and would order their meal again.

But I also agree with others, the monorail resorts offer many choices - The Wave was a nice surprise for us on our recent trip.

hi.
we love Tony's town square resturant as a sit down, its an italian, this is not a character meal. Its themed lady & the tramp.

its just myself (29), and my boyfriend (28) but its one of our favourites in MK

i could recommend Boma at AKL which is all you can eat buffet fantastic value for money & atmosphere and you can all so have a look around the resort after dinner, well worth it.
kind regards
beckie

If you would like a nice TS dinner for adults and teens, I would pick Tony's.
Ask for a 7:30 PM or 8 PM ADR, ask for a table on the porch and have an great view of the Electrical Light Parade.

If you have little ones in your family I would do Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern if Crystal Place is closed.

If you want to splurge, romatic dinner without kids, fun dinner if you have kids. do Cindy's Palace.

If you want to go to a resort outside of MK - take the monorial to the Grand Flordian and eat dinner at 1900 Park Fair - you get characters (Cindy, the Prince, The wicked step Mom and Sisters) and a great buffet.

We like LTT, the food is good, and it's served family style, so we can each have as much or as little as we want of everything. My kids love the mac n cheese, but what kid doesn't, so we know this is one restaurant where they are guaranteed to eat without complaining.

Thanks for the responses.

It is dh and I and our kids, ds (7) and dd (5). I've tried to get into 1900 for dinner but they don't have anything available. We are going 1/3 to MK. I've tried for 1/2 as well but no luck. I'm going to keep trying.

I will look into these others as well. I want to get the most out of MK as this is the only park we are doing, so I don't want to go too far.

If you are going on 1/3 this year you are going to have trouble getting a reservations anywhere. It is a busy time of year and folks have been making their reservations for months. The restaurants in the MK are often filled to capacity well in advance.
Your best bet is to call often, hoping someone cancels.
Good Luck

We love Tonys, the food is very good....the Plaza is great for burgers and sandwiches and we really enjoyed LTT for lunch, I am not too keen on their dinner menu but lunch was awesome

DH and I just had lunch at The Plaza last Friday and loved it. Very pretty inside, and a good value. It's pretty much all soup, salad, and sandwiches, and the portions are large. The banana split was amazing!

CRT is a family tradition....

prob can't get in this late...but do this your next visit...your kids will LOVE it !

DS & I are breaking tradition in May...we're gonna walk to Cali Grill....

First time to try that but DS LOVES Sushi....so hope we enjoy it!

Have a magical visit!

PS: CM told me on phone that Cali Grill requires special dress...when I questioned her on it...she backed down a bit...and said something like "shorts are okay...but not shorts with holes, ragged, etc.".... ??????

You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE the Cali Grill. We tried it for the first time on our last trip. The food, the view (Castle Fireworks), the service - all superior in our book! We can't wait to go back. Which reminds me, I need to book our reservation!

We don't like any TS restaurants in MK, so we take the monorail and go to 'Ohana (Polynesian) or The Wave (Contemporary).

Have you considered TS for lunch and CS for dinner? It is usually an easier ADR. We have had a really good lunch at LTT and Tony's.
