OK, planning to eat at Kona Cafe; really wanted 'Ohanas but it's booked so I picked Kona Cafe. Well, I had a co-worker to say "oh, you don't want to eat there" but never really told me why. So I want to hear the good and the bad about having dinner at Kona Cafe.:listen:

We had the best food and service of our whole trip at Kona. Best crab cakes I've ever had...and the macadamia mahi....fabulous! I've booked it for dinner twice next trip....it's that good!

Great pictures of the food and restaurant HERE. (Be sure to look at page 2!)

Coworker is wrong imho.
Our Favorite place hands down. The mahi mahi is DELICIOUS OH I can't wait we are eating there Monday!! It was the first choice of mine and dh - and even the kids loved it(kiddie cone !) It doesn't have the "wild fun" of Ohana- but we didn't get any wild fun when we were there anyway. (but we are going back there too- that bread pudding and those potatoes....omg.....mmmmmm)
I think you will be happy at Kona- We have had the Mahi Mahi as well as the Steak Teriyaki which dh ordered after I told him someone on the dis said they would kill for this meal. He liked it - wouldn't kill for it- but always orders it now when we go(last trip we went twice!) Enjoy!

We had a very good dinner at Kona Cafe this past Feb. I had the Macadamia Mahi-Mahi, it was delicious! DBF had the Beef Terriyaki, that was so-so. But, overall it was a great time. The service was also very good! We would definately return again in the future. By the way, if you like coffee, they have a delicious press pot coffee!!!!:goodvibes

we had a fantastic meal last sept and are eating there again, great service and lots of food choices. :thumbsup2

Would like to try to eat at the Kona for breakfast. Can anybody shine some light on the Breakfasts?:confused3

We have eaten breakfast (as well as dinners and lunch) at Kona . The service and food are great. Try and make priority seating because it can get busy and you might have to wait for a table. They serve the bannana stuffed french toast that is my husband's favorite. He has eaten it since we started visiting Disney in 1986.. This past summer was our 20th anniversary of that first trip and one of the places we went back to was Kona so he could have that french toast. You can get just about any of the usual breakfast fare there. We've never had a bad meal. Now that we live in Central Florida we eat there regularly and our party sometimes has three generations. Even the little ones (4 and 2 now) love it.

I don't know how anyone could have NOT enjoyed Kona. It's fantastic! I'm a big fan of all their appetizers & the steak teriyaki. The potstickers, crabcakes & bisque are fantastic. You will not be disappointed. It is as good as everyone says! It was my DH's favorite place of our whole trip. ENJOY!:goodvibes

I was thisclose to eating there this last trip. I had one more ADR and it was between Kona and Spoodles. I went with Spoodles, which I do not regret for one minute. But next time, I am definitely eating at Kona!!

I love Kona. The atmosphere is cozy. The place is fairly small, but never crowded, and the food is great.

Thanks everyone for the information, I think I will keep our RSVP. Have a "Magical Day"!
