We are trying to decide if we want to do dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. We looked at the menu on All Ears and it didn't look extensive. I realize it can change day to day and season to season, but what have you all seen there at any given time for dinner? Would you recommend it? What characters have you seen?

Thanks for any and all help! :goodvibes

We have had the breakfast/lunch buffet & the dinner buffet. We loved both. There are a ton of selections & we have never had any complaints about the food there!!!
As for characters are last 2 trips we've seen: Chef Goofy, Max, Pluto, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Jasmine, Aladdin, Geppetto, Baloo, Brer Fox, Mad Hatter & Alice.
It will vary each time you go (Goofy, Max & Pluto seem to always be there).

This meal is a blast. The characters come & interact with you at the table & then they having dancing up towards the buffet. My kids (even the 22 & 19 yr old) have to do this meal everytime we go!!!!!

You can't rely on All Ears to give you the full array of things at Goofy's or any of the other buffets. They just give kind of a sampling of what is there. Even though I am a diehard fan of the Goofy's breakfast/brunch and not the dinner, I can definitely say that their spread for breakfast, brunch and dinner is nothing if not extensive. Goofy's is a buffet-only restaurant, so they have the space for a much more extensive spread than the other DLR buffet places, which operate as regular restaurants during the day. In fact, I think that Goofy's - while expensive - is the best deal for the money because there are SO many options and everyone can be satisfied. I am spoiled now from eating at Goofy's so many times over the years, because when I ate at Storytellers in December for dinner, I was looking at their limited buffet options and was thinking, 'That's no good. Too much money for not enough choices.'

The op was looking for the dinner menu and this is the brunch one. :-) It's the best menu listing for brunch that I've seen though!

Do you have kids? As 2 adults with no kids, we would recommend every other character meal over Goofy's. The experience of us and several other couples we know is that it is loud and noisy and the character interaction is focused on games and such rather than coming to your table. Some people may enjoy this, but we like Storyteller's and Lilo & Stitch much better. I loved the breakfast buffet at both places.

is that the menu that they have at the beginning of the buffet? like for breakfast, if so man that is a lot of chioces lol

Thanks for all of the replies so far. We have no children, but we love the atmosphere at Chef Mickey's at Disney World. We are already planning on doing Minnie's breakfast, but we wanted a character dinner for our first night since we won't be entering the parks. More opinions and suggestions are always welcome!!! Thanks again.:goodvibes

You may have had an off meal or two there, but I have been eating at Goofy's since 1992 (we never miss it on our trips), and the characters definitely come to each table. As for being 'noisy,' I guess it depends on what your tolerance for noise is or what you consider noisy. Dinner is busier than breakfast/brunch, so therefore, will be noisier. But I have never been there where I felt like the noise was unbearable or I would not have gone back so many times in 16 years!;) It's not for everyone - then again, character meals in general are not for everyone - but the characters DO come to each table at Goofy's. I have not seen games, per se. What they do peridocially is get the kids up to dance the Macarena, which they love, and then everybody sits back down.

Actually, brunch has most of the same stuff that breakfast has. It's just that the brunch hours extend until noon or whatever, but it's the same food, more or less - or at least, it has been the same food when we have had late-morning meals there. They USED to do an actual 'lunch' at Goofy's long ago, but stopped that. I have never seen a tri-tip or rice pilaf or enchiladas in the brunch hours! Many of the dinner options are on that list that the PP posted, but I think that list also includes the stuff that is served at breakfast/brunch!! It seems like one comprehensive list integrating all the selections from breakfast/brunch and dinner.

From all that I have heard, Goofy's is the one character meal that is most comparable to Chef Mickey's (I have never been to WDW so cannot make the comparison). So I think you will be more than satisfied if you eat there. IS Chef Mickey's an all-you-eat buffet like Goofy's is, or more 'buffeteria style' like Minnie's is?

Breakfast/brunch does not have all those items on that list posted above. I have been there countless times. I don't want people to get the wrong idea. If you want to see a lot of photos of the Goofy's breakfast/brunch choices, J.C.andAli'sMom posted a bunch of Goofy's photos on the Dining thread yesterday. That will show you what they have for breakfast/brunch. However, many of the dinner items may be the same as some of what is served in the morning, along with additional dinner-type things, which also seem to be listed above. I think that list is an overview of everything you would see on both Goofy's menus combined, rather than one meal specifically. For example, there is no lasagna served at breakfast/brunch, but it is on that list because it is served for dinner. However, pizza IS served at all the meals, as are hot dogs and chicken!!

They have a wide variety of foods to satisfy vegans and meat lovers as well as kids. The chefs also will special prepare meals for guests with food allergies. I have never had a trip to Goofy's where I left hungry.

Chef Mickey's is a full buffet, but since we have never been to Goofy's or Minnie's before, I am not sure which to compare it to. We are excited to try both as we love character meals at 27 years old! :rotfl:

P.S. Thanks for the tip about the dining pictures; I am off to look there now!!!!!

You're welcome! I should have posted the link to the pictures that J.C.andAli's mom posted yesterday from Goofy's breakfast/brunch, but I wasn't thinking. Anyway, there are like two or three posts (some of which also include Storytellers pictures too) and they are on the next to last page of the Dining thread. No Goofy's dinner pictures, however. But the dinner selections will be just as vast as the breakfast/brunch ones!!
I have not eaten at Minnie's yet, and I have heard mixed reviews of the food quality, but I want to do it at least once because the character selection there is interesting! So I hope to try it whenever I get to DLR next.

Here is the link to the Dining thread page with J.C.andAli'sMom's fantastic photos of Goofy's Kitchen breakfast selections, just for anyone who hasn't seen them yet. She covered about 90% of them, I'd say, but there are more things there as well. Now, if we could only find as many pictures of the variety of dinner choices, we would have a good idea of all there is to choose from!!

If you had the choice of doing either Goofys Dinner or Rainforest Cafe which would you do?

Thank you both I think that it is awsome to serve, the chicken and pizza for breakfast, soemthing different then just the usual.
I looked at the picutes and it looks awsome.
Yes, it's the one for breakfast. There is no separate lunch there, so the breakfast meal runs until later and is called brunch.

We looked at the pictures and they look great! We really wanted to try Minnie's because we'd love to enter the park early and start our day with a picture of Sleeping Beauty Castle all to ourselves! And Goofy's just sounds fun.

I think you will have a good experience at both places. Minnie's will be cool because you can be in the park before the crowds show up, as you said, and get some uncluttered pictures before the mobs descend upon you. Plus, it just looks like Minnie and Friends has a good mix of classic characters to mingle with. And Goofy's is fun, along with having the great variety and quality of food, along with the classic characters. After my experiences last year, trying to get pictures in front of the Winter Castle and IASW Holiday with thousands of people milling about, I can appreciate the sentiment of wanting to get some nice, clean shots in front of some DL landmarks, without 50 other families in them too!;)
