I just got back from a trip to the Poly, and one thing we enjoyed was the ease of hoping on the Monorail to go to California Grill at CR. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at Narcoossee's at GF. Once again, we just hoped on the Monorail to get there and back.

We are staying at the POP in August, and I am wondering how you go about eating dinner at GF or CR. How do you get there and back?

If you want you can take a taxi, probably the easist way. If not and if the MK is open, take the bus there and then take the monorail to the resort you are going. Then on return, go the the MK again and take the bus back.

Thank you for your ideas, brentalex.

Do you or anyone else have an idea of what taxi's cost from the POP to CR or GF? Where do I go to call for a Taxi? The front desk?

Also, How late do the busses run to the POP at night? Is there a schedule or something I can look at for bus times and such?

Having a car makes things like this easier.

Drive to the TTC and hop on a monorail.

it depends on how late MK is open that night. everything will run for at least an hour I think after the park closes. we stayed at AKL and had dinner at GF and WL and just took the bus to mk and then a bus to WL or a bus to MK and monorail to GF, respectively.

We stayed at POP last May and made dining reservations at resorts and at the parks. We just hoped on a bus to the closest park and then took the monorail or boat to the resort we needed to get too. It really wasn't all that bad. The other option is hoping on the bus to DTD (although they run less frequent) and then taking the bus you need from there.

We didn't mind it. In fact, this May we are going to POP again and intend to do the same thin.

If the Magic Kingdom is going to be open late then the Pop Century bus to there would be the best option, if you did not want to spend $ on a taxi to either Resort. So when you would arrive at the Magic Kingdom you could walk from the bus station or take the Resort Monorail to the Contemporary. If your were going to the Grand Floridian they also have a boat from the Magic Kingdom boat dock which directly to there, so it would be faster then taking the Resort Monorail. Of course it's only faster if the boat was almost there or was already there, so if you were to just miss it you could be waiting at least 20 minutes for the next one to arrive. So then the Resort Monorail would be the other option for you.

Great! Thank you everyone for all your ideas. I am not going to rent a car... trying to keep costs down as much as possible... so I think I will try to avoid a taxi and just stick the the buses and monorail. I'm so glad to hear that others have done the same. Last year when we stayed at the POP we just ate at the resort and the parks... we didn't go beyond to try restaurants at other resorts. After this past trip to the Poly, we discovered some great places at CR and GF we will want to try again... so I am happy to see it can be done.
