Dinner at Boma after Animal Kingdom... How do we get there?

I made a dinner reservation for us at Boma after we are done at Animal Kingdom thinking that it was right at the Animal Kingdom Park. After reading some things I am now wondering how far Boma is from the park. Can we take the disney shuttle from Boma back to All Star Sports after dinner?

I'm hoping I didn't screw this up.

Thanks!

Boma is in Jambo house at Animal Kingdom Lodge so just hop on the AKL resort bus and get off at the second stop (bus stops at Kidani first). To get home I would hop on a downtown Disney bus and from there a bus to All Star Sports.

We do Boma after our AK day, too. Just take the bus as the PP explained. It is easy. Enjoy your meal there! It's one of our favorites.

Instead of taking the DTD bus to get back to All Stars, just take a cab. It will be quicker.

We did this on our trip. We planned to go to Fantasmic! after dinner, so we just took the bus back to HS and then back to our resort after F!

I agree with Deb & Bill, take the cab. If you go from AKL > DTD > All Stars by bus, it'll take at least an hour. The cab ride will be 5-10 minutes.

I was going to guess 1-2 hours if you include waiting for the bus.

We always do Boma on our AK day as well! :)

It's easy:

When you're through with Animal Kingdom, take the bus over to Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you're early, there is plenty to explore around the resort!

After you enjoy your divine Boma dinner, you have a few options to return back to All Star Sports:

1) Take a bus from AKL to DTD, explore DTD for the evening and head back to All Star Sports from there

2) Take a bus from AKL to whatever park is still open and running buses, hop on the first one, and at the bus stop, hop on the All Star Sports bus and head back

3) Take a cab directly from AKL to All Star Sports

We always do option number 1. It's simple, and AK usually closes early, so we hit up AK until about 4pm, eat dinner at Boma around 5pm, and hit DTD and spend the evening there from around 7pm onward. :goodvibes

And the beauty of a relatively early evening meal, then heading down to DTD is that you get a chance to walk some of that HUGE meal off!

Boma is great! I can't NOT go there!

I agree with taking a cab back to your Resort. It'll be much easier than going to DTD.

We are having dinner at Boma after a day at Animal Kingdom. We are staying at CSR. My mom needs a scooter to travel the parks and we are a party of six. Is the bus the only option to get back to CSR? I would like to use a cab but I don't see how a scooter will fit into a mini van cab.

Our dinner reservations are at five.

What route would you take to get back to CSR from AKL?

Animal Kingdom closes at six the night we will be there. Is going back to Animal Kingdom after dinner an option to transfer to a CSR bus?

How late do Buses run to resorts after the park closes?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm a little confused on how to work this out.

Not the travel answer...

If you are finishing dinner and it is dark, you can view the animals on the savannah with night vision glasses. Cool!

Pretty much the same answer - go to DTD or to another park and get your bus back home.

Buses run about an hour after the park closes. You probably would not be finished dinner and back to the AK park in time to get a bus.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to switch my reservations to 4:30 so I'm hoping to get back to Animal Kingdom while the resort buses are still running.

Thanks for the reply. This will be our first time eating at Boma's and was wondering on what animals we might see. Do they take requests for a window views?

I'm staying at the CR - and have 2 ADRs at AKL, Jiko and Sanaa. Neither are on my AK day - since the park closes relatively early, it wasn't an option to just hang out there before dinner. Will it just be easier to take a cab to and from the AKL lodge on those 2 nights ? I don't relish giving myself an hour and a half head start on my reservation (if I take the bus) as Disney recommends. I was thinking of cabbing it to BlueZoo as well; all other nights, I can take the monorail, so they aren't issues.

Thanks!

Yes, cabs are always easiest resort to resort. The WDW busses do not do any resort to resort routes. I always budget a few cab rides to resort ADR's. It is still much cheaper than renting a car, and far more convenient.
I save in a special envelope over the months leading up to the trip and have my cab fares and tips all ready. This way it is painless for me.
Enjoy

The only animals you will see from the windows at Boma are the human animals going to Mara and visiting the pool. None of the dining areas a Jambo House have animal viewing areas.
