My family of 4 will be traveling with another family of 3 for the Halloween party in October. We realized it's pretty impossible to book table for 7 at most restaurants, so for most things we've got separate reservations for 3 and 4. But they're not all at the same exact time. Some are close and some are like an hour apart which isn't ideal. How do big groups deal with this? Do you just not eat together at sit down restaurants?

Stop by the restaurant podium at least a day before your ADRs, explain your problem and they’ll try to work it out.The hour different ones may require more thought or just be impossible so have a plan B of how to spend the time if needed.
You can also continue to search for compatible reservations before you leave home using various sites’ reservation finders.

I am a seater at Disney and I recommend stopping by the podium, but earlier in the day on the day of your ressies. I can't see or modify anything the day before. Sometimes (usually) we are able to combine and it's no problem. So for the ones with an hour difference, it would most likely be combined and get you seated somewhere in the middle of the two times.

One thing I will say, at both of my places, we only seat COMPLETE parties. So if the first half has a ressies at 6pm and the next group is at 7pm, everyone would have to be there at 6pm to check in if you want to combine and eat at that time!

Thank you this is really helpful. The reservation that’s the biggest issue is a MK, which we’re planning to park hop to and will be attending boo bash later that night. We won’t be able to get there earlier than our dinner is scheduled for so I can’t stop by the podium early in the day. Is it possible to call them? Or speak to someone else about it?

For us, not really. But to be completely honest, we will almost always try to get your party together if we at all can. For instance, today we combined four parties with 17 total into 2 tables. It will really depend on the size of the biggest table where you are eating. Our largest is a 10 top, possibly seating 12 if half are smaller children! So anything over that would ALWAYS require two tables, we don't push any together. With how small your party is, I really CANNOT see it being a problem.

based on what I have seen I would also ask how long it will take to combine ressies. as it could run into Boo Bash time

Thank you did all your help!

we’ve got fairly early reservations for dinner that day but if we had to we’ll just eat separately and let our friends catch up to us.
