My 4 y/o twin DDs have milk allergy. The chefs were more than accommodating for them. We ate TS at 50s Prime Time, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Sci Fi, MamaMelrose, and Teppan Edo. CS at Cosmic Ray's (MK), POP food court, Electric Umbrella (epcot), and Flame Tree BBQ (AK).

At the buffets, the chef came out and walked me through the buffet. They also offered Tofutti or Rice Dream ice cream and Divvies choc chip cookies for dessert. At Sci Fi, the chef made them dairy free milkshakes. Teppan Edo the chef made their meals first and they were brought fruit cups for dessert. Mama Melrose they had Rice Dream ice cream and the chef there kept assuring me that he made everything on his own grill and he made their meals himself. he really wanted to make sure I knew my DDs would be safe.

The CS were a bit more hassle (but worth every bit). The lines were long and sometimes it took a while for the manager or chef to come out. They had grilled chicken over mixed greens at cosmic rays, baked chicken wings and hot dogs (no bun) at Flame tree, grilled chx sandwich (no bun) at Electric umbrella ... at POP they had hotdogs (no bun -- they had the ener-g bun at POP but DDs didn't care for it). They also had dairy free mickey waffles at POP. We were told they could make special pizza (with veggies and no cheese) at POP, but that was on our last day or we would hav tried that too.

They also carried soy milk, the Divvies choc chip cookies and caramel corn in the POP food court.

I just can't believe how accommodating they were ... and for no extra charge. I had never gone anywhere that I wasn't preparing all of the food my DDs were eating. This was a big step for me and it was a success. Everyone was so kind and so very helpful.

Here is one bit of advice ... if you say anything about an allergy, you MUST talk for the chef before they will let you order. I looked at the binder at Cosmic Rays and decided what my DDs could eat, but the cashier would not let me order without first speaking to the manager/chef. He said that since I mentioned allergy, the policy is that I must speak to the chef. No big deal, just a few more minutes wait.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

thanks for the report.
glad to hear it went so well.

I've not had that happen but it sounds like a good idea. I usually just get a blank stare from the cashier and they start going "uh....." Guess you can tell I find CS difficult! I have found with the peanut allergy that there are just some standard things he eats that are safe and easy to find. Some allergies are more complex or they have less people asking about it so they aren't so well prepared.

Thanks for that great trip report! :goodvibes

These posts make me feel better. Traveling for the first time without brining all of our own meals/lunchboxes for 4.5 year old with egg/nut allergies....these posts leave me hopeful.

Thanks twinnersmama for the trip report. We also had a great experience in 2006. We are going back in October, and I am soooo excited that Divvies are available at so many places. That will make it even better.

TinkTiff - I don't know if you have read any of the other food allergy threads that have been on this board in the past, but there is A LOT of good information there. Here are a couple of links:
