I'm so excited for my trip next week - my sister has booked us a Dining with an Imagineer lunch for my birthday gift. I'm so excited for the experience and to finally eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby. I'm wondering - has anyone else done this? What was it like? I know the food is going to be fabulous. I'm also a little concerned about how to dress. I know that even the fancier restaurants in the parks are ok with tshirts, shorts and sneakers, but since this is a special kind of event should I plan to wear something a little dressier?

It has been a few years but I have done it twice. It was a great experience.
You don't have to dress up for it. I wore a nicer pair of capris and a top but there were others there in t-shirts and shorts. Kind of whatever you feel comfortable in.

I almost booked this for this trip with my mom, and then chickened out. What to wear? What to ask?

Would you report back, when you've finished? Best wishes for a happy birthday - - you'll be in good company!

I've been 5 times.....booked again for Nov. too.
Love it.

Dress....park clothes are the norm. No one dresses special including the imagineer. What to ask....depends on the person's specialty. We have had them all over the board....engineer, graphics, paint.....you never know untiil you arrive.
Food is great......soup, Cobb salad, a choice of 3-4 entrees and a dessert plate.

Enjoy!

My husband and teen boys are going this time! Part of my husband's (an engineer from a family of engineers) 50th Birthday celebration. :) I was shocked when we found availability and they are very excited.

We have done Dine with an Imagineer three times (I think it's three). Wonderful lunch that lasted about 3 hours. Usual park attire is all we ever wore. Have fun!

DS done it several times. While normal park apparel is fine, he wore khaki shorts and a collared shirt (he has a variety of Disney "hawaiian" style shirts with SW etc) so he has on vacation clothes, yet not tshirts."

CONGRATS, it's hard to get and even DS only trying to book for one (he tries every trip) has not readily gotten one.

FYI for those interested - our DWAI date is Wednesday June 22nd and my sister booked it prior to Christmas, although I don't know exactly when she did it, as it was a surprise.
