So my daughter is unfortunately going to be 10 for our trip. I noticed that the kids menu ends at 9. Which is unfortunate for us because her palate consists of everything that's only the childrens menu and that's it. Plus her and I normally split a meal, so paying an adult price, I doubt would be worth it.

I called the resort and they said that because she's 10, she definitely is required to be charged the adult meal, even if she just ends up ordering chicken finger/mac n cheese. Womp Womp.

Did anyone notice if this is different once you get there? How strict is this walking in without a reservation versus having one.

At the end of the day I am willing to pay her an adult fare 2x to experience both restaurants as this is a once in a lifetime trip that I have been saving for, for years. I completely regret putting it off for an year given the dining thing.

I think it's a drag that Auntie's Beach House... for KIDS is 3-12, but the KIDS menus in the restaurants are 3-9.

When we went a year and a half ago, they were not strict at all but that might have changed. They automatically gave my 11 year old the kids menu without asking her age at Ama Ama and did not ask her age at all the quick service places. The only place I paid adult price for her was at the Character Breakfast. We didn't do the dinner buffet but I would have paid full price there too.

As far reservations, it depends on how busy it was. Most likely you always need reservations for dinner and for the character breakfast but we were able to walk in for lunch and breakfast at Ama Ama. I often looked at the online reservation site the morning on to see if there were spots before we went.

I wouldn't have trouble asking for a children's menu at all if that is what my child wanted to eat. My 11 year old is very picky and drives me crazy sometimes with his palate but as long as he's eating and happy that's all I care about. As long as your child doesn't mind ordering from the children's menu, which is sometimes the bigger problem I would ask for the menu.

Your problem is that she is 10 instead of 9 for the second time :)
