I leave on Wednesday for a 5 night trip with my son. We only planned this about 2 weeks ago, so it has been a little hairy trying to get everything planned! I came up with this dining plan, as reservations were few and far between. We are not doing the dining plan, but now wondering if I should add it to the middle reservatiion, (we are in three different DVC rooms), so three different reservations, so I can add DDP to just one of the reservations!

Wednesday - arrive BWV
5:30 Flying Fish

Thursday - BLT
7:35 Trails End Buffet at Fort Wilderness

Friday - BLT
8:00pm - Spirit of Aloha

Saturday - BLT
6:35 - Brown Derby

Sunday - VWL
6:25 - Citricos

I think this should work and we should be able to find food on the menu for both of us!!!

My question - there is one!! should i do the dining plan? i can do it the first and last night, the middle three nights, or allthe nights or none of them!!!

I would go on allearsnet and price it out. Pick what you'd usually order and compare that to the price of the deluxe dining plan. Since all of your choices except Trail's End are 2 credits, you'd want to go with deluxe unless you'd do regular and pay out of pocket for several meals.

All your reserved restaurants except Trails End will cost two DDP credits per person. If you are on the regular DDP for a one night reservation, you will not have enough credits per person to pay for these reservations. If the middle stay is 4 nights you will have enough credits to pay for the Spirit of Aloha and Brown Derby but not for Trails End (which is one of the cheaper TS, you could pay OOP for that). If you're thinking of adding the deluxe plan, remember you will have 3 meal credits per night and will have to find a way to use more of them - they can be used for CS if you want.

Now Im thinking too much again!! So if I got the DDDP, if I did it for the first 4 night, I would be allowed 12 sit down meals. Would I be able to use the meals the night of 8/30? Even though that day I would have already checked into my new room? I know the meals are based on nights, but but are they good for the next day also?

Hope I'm saying this right!!!

Cause it that is the case, that I have to Midnight on 8/30 to use my credits up, it may be worth it to do the dining plan!

If I am reading this right, you check in 8/26 for one night. Then you check out on 8/27 and have a three night stay (not a 4 night stay) in another resort, checking out on 8/30. On 8/30 you check into another resort for 1 night.

If you add the deluxe plan to the middle stay and there are two of you and your child is 9, you will have 9 adult and 9 child meal credits. You will have until midnight on 8/30 to spend all of them.

If you add it to the first stay AND the second stay, for the first stay you will have 3 adult and 3 child meal credits attached to that reservation. Those credits will expire at midnight on 8/27 so you must use them before then. When you check in on the 27th at the next resort, you will receive 9 adult and 9 child credits on that reservation that must be used by midnight on 8/30.

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe you can add the dining plan on if you're leaving this coming Wednesday. I think there's some sort of time limitation on how far out it has to be booked.

For a DVC reservation, you have until 48 hours before arrival to add a dining plan.

Interesting. I didn't know it was different for DVC. Clearly I haven't purchased (although it would probably be a good investment considering our frequency of visits, but not right now).
