Dining when staying on DVC with some one elses points

I had booked a resort stay a few months back with another members points that I purchased. I didn't add the dining plan at the time because I wasn't sure if I wanted them.

So now, we're leaving in 5 days and we decided the dining plan would be beneficial to us, so we decided to book it. This is the first time I'm not using my own points or paying for the resort. I'm being told by member services only the individual who holds the account with DVC can book, even if my name is on the reservation and I want to pay for it right now with my credit card.

Is there anything I can do?

You need to contact the person you rented from and have them add the dining plan for you. Just a quick phone call to do it. I believe it must be added at least 48 hrs in advance (maybe 72 ?)
and you can not pay for it up front, you must pay at check in.
