This has probably been discussed so I apologize in advance, but I'm curious about tipping extra. My family of 4 is on the dining plan and I "believe" 15% is included in the cost of the plan per meal. I may be wrong. I normally leave 20% except on occasions where the service is terrible (very rarely). Does anyone do this and can I be sure the server is going to receive this money? Does it go into a pool at the end of the night or does the server actually receive the overage? I know this probably sounds like a ridiculous question.

Also, another silly question. What do you generous folks leave Mousekeeping on a daily basis? We have the daily envelopes ready...I was going to say $5-7 per day. Is this on the cheap side?

I believe the dining plan includes 18%. Yes, I do leave some extra cash to bring it to 20% if service was good.

I leave mousekeeping $1. per person per day...so my family of 4 leaves either $4. or sometimes just a $5 bill.

It is 18% - but remember to bring $cash$ if you are not paying for anything out of pocket - you can not charge only an extra tip.

Sometimes we would leave extra (when the tip was 15% we almost always did) but with 18% of some very high bills, we rarely felt the need to leave extra - at Le Cellier for a table of 2 adults, the tip was just over $20.

For Mousekeeping, I usually leave between $3 - $5 per day ($3 when there is 2 of us, $5 when there is 3 or 4 of us). But we don't tend to be messy people and I usually bring my own towels and TP from home so they don't need to do too much in the bathroom, only make the beds and empty the trash.

Didn't even think of TP. Thanks...another thing to add to the list. :)

Good thing we're driving. (I bet my dh is wishing we were flying at this point). I'm going to have to cut some of the stuff out though.

Thanks so much for the responses.

I find TP at most disney hotels to be too scratchy

..... and what goes in, must come out.....

I always tip extra and on the free dining plan why not. in NJ servers only get $2.13 and hour and after taxes there is no pay check it is void. also they must tip bussers and bartenders and maybe the hosts. 5 $$ a day for mousekeeping
