DH, DS10 and I are cruising in Nov. Let's say a few of the nights DS decides to go to the Lab instead of dinner with us. Are we still seated with families with children? Or are we assigned as we check in to dinner? Seeing as we wont have our son with us we most likely would like to be able to eat with adults, preferably ourselves.

Hi, you are assigned a table w/table mates.. these do not change if someone in your party do not show up! You could however try and upgrade one of those evenings to Palo (adults only). If not see if you can request a table with just your family and no one else in order to not having to dinner with other people's children! But would put the request in soon!

You could also request a table for just your family. You do this through your TA or DCL, whoever you booked through. While its not guaranteed, at least you will have a shot. Then this way if DS is in the club you will be alone regardless of whether you get into Palo or not. Good luck!

Can I also call DVC and make this request through them? We booked on points.

Table mates? When we went in December we were never with anyone, but our own family members (4 of us). I think the people around us were small families also. I've never heard of having a table mate.

Parties of four or more or usually seated by themselves.
Couples are normally seated with other couples.
We really enjoy meeting these people from all over the states.
So far we have been seated with two older ladies who were ranchers in Montana, a newly wed couple from Cal., a newly wed couple from Mass, a young couple from Penn.. He was head guard at a Federal prison and she was a nurse in a mental hospital. We also were seated with a couple who were moving to New Hampshire from Boston. They never seat us with fellow Southerners. We have never had a bad experience yet with our table mates.

I hope we are seated at a table with other people half the fun of the cruise is meeting and getting to know other people! I STILL keep in touch with people I met on a cruise over 15 years ago!!!

We've only been on 5 cruises (Disney Magic #6 in Fall) and we've always been seated with other couples. It's a wonderful experience. We've met some wonderful people and it makes your meal so enjoyable. On our last cruise, we were at a table with 3 other couples - 2 were from Great Britain and 1 from Canada. We ran into them at various other places throughout the cruise (it was a 7 day) and it was like meeting friends unexpectadly. I hope we're as lucky on our next cruise.

yes you can call Members Services and ask that they put your any request on your reservation.

Our experience with table mates with children is that Matt made friends with them. when he stayed in the club, they did too.

We liked the family we were seated with on the 4 day cruise in 2000 so much we are taking the 7 day cruise with them this week!
