Hi everyone. I've been lurking and posting on here off and on for the last couple of years. I'm hoping and praying that we get to go next year.
Here are some choices I'm making for our meals:
Crystal Palace
Elect umbrella
Sci-Fi
Tusker house
Chef Mickeys
whispering Canyon
Akershus

I had thought about CRT, but I don't want to use 2 TS each just for one meal. I think the princesses are at Akershus, Right?? or if not, where else are they? I think we'll be staying 7 d 6 n at CBR ( I think)! It will be the last week of November through the beginning of December (I just have to see the decorations). I'm sure we'll be eating off propery also, so that will save some TS's for us. (My hubby does love Hooters and ours closed up here )

I still need to add some CS's to my list, (besides E.Umbrella)

How does that sound so far?

There are princesses at Akershus, and they stop at every table, speak to the kids and take pictures. Cinderella is also at 1900 PF at the Grand Floridian.
For a CS at Epcot consider Sunshine Seasons.

My DD8 at the time (Sept. 2008) really liked seeing Belle and getting her picture taken with her in the entrance of the restraurant. The princesses did come around to every table and we took pictures of all of them with her. She did receive a free 5x7 pic of the Belle picture. We did the dinner, at which time, they offer Norweigan Cuisine, and my children didn't like it, but I've heard that the breakfast is much better!

So far my daughter, who is only 3 1/2 is really into Ariel. Not sure what or who she will like when we go next year (she'll be all most 5 when we go).

You have a lot of places on your list that we have been to :)

We loved tusker house breakfast, what a large selection of all different types of good fresh food and the character interaction was good as well ! CP is a must do for us as well, good food and lots of fun for the kiddos :) Akershush was awesome, my girls loved it and so did DH and I. The food was some of the freshest we had while we were at Disney and the princesses we saw that morning were sleeping beauty, ariel, snow white, belle and cinderella. DEF. worth 1TS, we are doing it twice when we go in FEB. Sci Fi wasfun.. had surprisingly good food and we all had a good time here as well...CM is better for BF I hear over dinner. DD#1 is wanting to go to the Ohana BF for her bday breakfast, supposed to have good reviews as well. We are going deluxe this coming trip so we are going to try CRT...but really Akershush will still probably be preferred by us.

CS wise you will have A LOT of choices, esp in Epcot. What stands out for me is Wolfgang puck express in DTD the food was excellent and by far the best counter service we've had. Also liked tangerine cafe in Epcot...my daughter like the mexican counter service,DH liked sunshine seasons (i thought it was gross but their desserts are EXCELLENT!). In AK flame tree or yak &yeti has very good CS. I don't remember much in HS...except for a beautiful brownie I bought at some shop lol. And MK has cosmic rays (but this place just didn't do it for me). It seems to get good reviews?

good luck, planning is sooo much fun !

OH, one last thing.. I would NOT recommend 1900PF dinner. It was the WORST dining experience we've ever had on disney property :headache:

Sci-Fi is awesome, not always the best of the best when it comes to food, although it has certainly got much better over the years, but the atmosphere is just so fun and awesome.
Counter services...hmm, we always enjoy Cosmic Rays in MK, particularly the burgers and ribs/chicken combo...AK, depends what you like, I personally think Pizza Safari has some of the best pizza on the property, DHS is usually hit or miss and Epcot, we've always just kind of snacked on everything, you must try the Fish and Chips though in England, yum yum!

I didn't realize that Wolfgang Puck was a CS. Thanks. I'll check out that menu and see if it would good for us.

I'm thinking of on our arrival day to eat at Whispering Canyon or Trails End, which do you all suggest?
With the meal ideas I have which ones would you do for which meals?
CP and Chef Mickeys will both be TS for breakfast, but I'm not sure about the rest.
I still we need to add more meals somewhere so we get all of our credits used.

our favorite CS places are:

MK - Pecos Bill's, Cosmic Ray's, Columbia Harbor House and Pinocchio Haus (I like the salads there.)

Epcot - Sommerfest, Yorkshire Fish and Chips, Tangierine Cafe and Sunshine Seasons. I'm interested in how, if at all, the Mexican CS has changed.

DHS - Backlot Express and Studio Catering

DAS - Flame Tree but I want to try Yak and Yeti.

DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich. They're right across from each other in the Market Place area.

I've heard a lot about Earl of Sandwich and Cosmic rays. Too many choices! Ahhhhhh!

Akershus

We did CRT last year and Akershus this year - yes CRT is a 2TS and outside of being inside the castle (which isnt as great as it sounds), Akershus was a better experience - less crowded meant more time with princesses who werent rushed. Also, a free 5x7 photo with Belle for the family.

Another poster mentioned 1900 park fare - also only a 1TS - really good buffet food, and all the Cindy characters.

Chef Mickey's was ok - nice for character access - Donald, Mickey, Goofy, but food on buffet seemed to be lesser quality compared to 1900.

Consider one that gives you the Fantasmic package at HS so you dont have to wait in the line to see the show. Momma Melrose was ok as long as you stay away from Italian. H&V was ok buffet (like Chef Mickey's quality) and gives you some playhouse disney character access if you have kids of that age.

A 1TS buffet without characters that was the best buffet we had was Boma in AK lodge - enough regular food for picky people, but tons of great traditional African foods to try.

You have a mix of counters and tables on your list - depends on your dining plan as to what mix you need.

Starring Rolls Cafe in Hollywood studios has some very delicious and interesting choices for CS breakfast.

Wasn't going to add CRT, but I just might. Which meal would be best? I"m already planning a CP breakfast, so really don't want to do a MK breakfast again. Any suggestions? Which would be better between lunch and dinner at CRT? Thanks

comment on whether lunch or dinner is better at CRT. The princesses are the major draw and we haven't been since they started attending dinner.

I will say that we have been to lunch three times. I have always come away thinking we our money's worth with a good part of that being the location and the character interaction.

I like the food and the lunch entree menu has hardly changed. The Major Domo's Favorite Pie is the favorite both my wife and myself. I am looking at the dinner menu now that the princesses are at dinner. Maybe I'll get some insight from your question.

I just have to watch the menus, because we don't like "fancy" food. We like the normal American fare - meatloaf, burgers, chicken ... things like that.

I didn't realize that Wolfgang Puck was a CS. Thanks. I'll check out that menu and see if it would good for us.

WP Express is a CS; WP Cafe is a TS. WP Express IMO is the best CS on property, and a great value if you're on the dining plan. :thumbsup2

Good choices, especially with kids. I'm not crazy about the food at Sci-Fi, but the atmosphere is wonderful and I love the shakes and onion rings! You'll see plenty of princesses at Akershus.

Sunshine Seasons is a really good counter service, and we like Columbia Harbour House at the MK. Cosmic Ray's is a good value on the DDP. CS is dismal at the Studios, probably Starring Rolls is your best bet. Love Flame Tree BBQ at the AK.

Enjoy!

I looked at the menus for CRT lunch and dinner and nothing on it sounds appetizing to me. How about Crystal Palace for lunch or dinner, which is best and then I can do CRT for breakfast.

Okay, I have a rough draft of dining. Please let me know your suggestions. TIA
Sunday: arrival day around noon. Late lunch at Earl of Sandwich
Monday: Epcot
Breakfast: Akershus
Lunch:
Dinner:
Tuesday: MK (If scheduled- MNSSHP tonight)
Breakfast: Crystal Palace
Lunch:
Dinner: CS in MK (suggestions)
Wednesday: Day off
Breakfast: Chef Mickeys
Dinner: Hooters
Thursday: DHS
Breakfast: resort (CBR)
Lunch: Sci- Fi ?
Dinner: ?
Friday:AK
Breakfast: Tusker House
Lunch: snack
Dinner:1900 Park Fare

Of course, I know this will be tweaked and twisted around, but this is what I have so far. I 've decided against CRT, because of the fact that it is 2TS each and there are other place to see the princesses.
I have holes in my plans because i haven't decided on some CS's. I do know that we'll be eating a few lunches at the resort because we will be taking midday breaks at the resort.

Your list looks great! You have many popular choices that have gotten wonderful reviews! I would highly suggest CRT! :thumbsup2 It was one of the ADRs we had last trip that I kept going back and forth about for the same reason you are (using 2 TS) but once we were there I was happy that we had the opportunity to eat in the castle. :) I would also recommend 50's Prime Time if you like "Meat and Potato" type meals. The interaction and atmosphere is really fun. JMT. Have fun planning and a wonderful vacation!

Why Electric Umbrella? That's an odd choice. I've never really heard of anyone choosing or planning to eat there. I personally think it's one of the worst CS places on property along with ABC Commisary at the Disney Studios.

We won't return to Alkershus for any meal other than breakfast, the Skandinavian food is better at Ikea.

Your list looks great (save Electric Umbrella)! Enjoy!

Agree with a previous poster if meat and potatoes is your thing, Prime Time would be a good bet.

I have had great meals at 1900 Park Fare, it's all relative. Just like some people love the food at Alkershaus lunch and dinner.
