My family and l are going to DLRP for 3 nights at the end of this month. The first two nights we have reservations for the Blue Lagoon and Inventions (character meal) and on the Saturday we have booked the Character Tea at Plaza Gardens before we have to leave for the airport. Our last night is on the Friday and from what l gather the hotels/restaurants are likely to be busy then since there is the shareholder's event the next day, so l think it would be best if we book dinner for that night in advance. We still haven't decided which restaurant to chose (we are a party of 4: 2 adults, 2 children) We've narrowed it down (at least l think we have) to:

1.Eating at our hotel Sequoia Lodge - Beaver Creek Tavern or Hunters Grill
2. Cafe Mickey (character meal)
3. Annette's Diner (not sure if you can book in advance. ), - we ate there last year and really liked it, but maybe we should try somewhere different.
4. Billy Bob's Saloon (Disney Village)
5. The Steakhouse (Disney Village)

So where would you chose that is child friendly (DD(10) & DS(3))? Also is there anywhere else other than than these you'd recommend? TIA

Anette's is not bookable in advance but it would be on our list as we visit it every trip :thumbsup2

Thanks Reid. Do you know if they still have the waitresses on rollerskates there or any of the staff singing/dancing and what time this is on? Is it upstairs or downstairs where that takes place? (we never saw it last year when we were there, but we were having an early dinner, maybe it's on later:confused3)

I'd pick Cafe Mickey out of that list - great fun food, great Disney atmosphere and characters! We went for the first time on our last vsit and it's become a 'must book' restaurant along with The Blue Lagoon.

We did Annettes on our last visit - the food was nice and the service was good, BUT, the doors were left open constantly and that led to flies buzzing around. We wouldn't return because of that last point.

I would probably have went for Cafe Mickey also, except you'll have had a bit of character interaction at Inventions :)

We have caught the staff singing Grease but never the rollerskating waitress :)

Thanks for your help. We talked about it some more last night - DH was favouring Annettes, l couldn't decide, DD(10) favoured Cafe Mickey and DS he's only age 3 and he'll eat anywhere, anytime. So we let DD chose - l made the reservation for Cafe Mickey this morning.:thumbsup2 DD & DS love character meals, as long as they are really hungry when they get to the restaurant they eat as well.

I haven't been there for dinner before (the menu on dlpfoodguide looks really good, although it might have changed a bit now). We had a character breakfast there last year - see photo below.

Lovely photo :goodvibes although I really enjoyed Annettes I was also going to say go for Cafe Mickey, you can never have too much of the characters! ;)

We were the opposite, CMs on roller skates but no Grease. Mind you, it could have had something to do with the fact the place was packed and there was no counter space for them to dance on! :rotfl:
