Hi everyone,

What is your favorite dining rotation on a 7 night Wonder cruise and why? We are a party of 10, including 4 kids under 10 years old. The kids are generally well behaved, but do pick up from their surroundings so if it's loud inside, they get louder!:rolleyes1

I read that usually table tops are set for 4,6, or 8. But if we all requested to sit together, it shouldn't be a problem to have a table for 10, right?

Also any recommendations for servers that you love? It's the first time on a Disney cruise for 6 of us so I want to make it as magical as possible!

Thank you all!

We started in Parrot cay to hit formal night on the first sea day, it worked very well for us, we like the formal restaurant on the formal or semi formal night.

Then we can plan to ensure we do not miss Animators show which we enjoy, and opt out for Palo dinner when we have a return in Parrot Cay.

to piggyback on this, if i have a head waiter preference, i should put that request in first, right, and not request MDR rotation? or should i do both?

Triton's is my fav. Animator's Palette is my second choice with the special effects. Parrot Cay is my last choice, but I did like it there for my embarkation lunch.

As I understand it, more than one request can confuse them because they don't know which is more important - and sometimes you end up with neither. If you are going to put two requests on, I would have them notate which is more important to you.

Is the rotation this year still the same as that of the previous year? I am wondering about which rotation to request as well. Thanks in advance!

The three dining rotations on our Alaskan cruise last August were:

#1: TAAPTAP
#2: APPTAPT
#3: PTTAPTA

We chose #2 because:
(a) we love Animator's Palate and, for us, eating there is a great way to start the cruise and
(b) we never eat at Parrot Cay, and used those three nights to eat at Palo twice and to relax and enjoy room service once.

No problem. They can put tables together for 10 people. We had 12 sit together on one of our cruises and sat at a table set up for 14 (second seating) on our last cruise. Our favorite server is back in Palo. If you go, ask for Sasha!

Yes, as the other person said they can do 10 no problem. We are a group of 10 and this will be our third DCL cruise.

According to a poster who is concierge, there is a new rotation for Alaska this summer. It is 1231231. Frozen is Day 4 (Skagway) other than that I have not read the order of any of the menus. I can't wait for the first sailing!

Hi, they definitely will sit large parties together, but I would recommend calling DCL ahead of time and making sure they know your party wants to sit together. We don't have too much of a preference for the dining rotation, other than where you eat the first night is where you have breakfast on your last morning. For that reason alone, we like starting off in Triton's. We have been on DCL six times and have always loved all of our server's. You can't go wrong with whoever you get. Have a great time!

I've just managed to grasp how the rotations work, but on the Alaskan cruises (I understand there are always changes) how do the menus work? Reg menu for that MDR on all but specialty nights...like frozen, taste of Alaska???

On most DCL cruises the rotational menu (each MDR having it's own menu) generally occurs the first time you are in each specific MDR. With the other nights having the same themed menus (Taste of Alaska, Pixar, Captain's Gala, etc).

Which ones did you have when you sailed Alaska on the Wonder?

Yes, you have each dining rooms menu once, and then four specialty menus that all dining rooms share on the same night. Now if I could just find out the plan for Alaska this year, I would be a very happy girl!

I think we are going to have to wait until the first Alaskan cruise returns to know all the details :sail:
