I've read on some threads about different dining rotations and noticed a code associated with those rotations. Can someone fill me in on what the different rotations are and what codes are associated with them, do you get to request your rotation and if so at what point? We're travelling with four families-2 adults and 2 kids in each family (youngest child 3 oldest 8)

Never cruised Disney so any advice in ALL areas is welcomed!!!

Thanks much!

Lisa

Hi , you only get to request rotation if you are in concierge or have REAS , the rotations are APLAPLA which means you go into Animators Palette, Parrots Cay, Lumieres Etc and would mean you are in Parrot Cay for formal night
PLAPLAP which is Parrot Cay, Lumieres then Animators giving you Lumiers for formal night and Parrot Cay for Mexican night or LAPLAPL which is Lumieres, Animators, Parrot Cay giving you Animators for Formal night, the rotations will be on your KTTW card which you get at check in and i understand that you normally get a rotation that will put you in like for like childrens age groups, however if you do get a rotation that you don't want you can ask at guest services and see if they can change which is sometimes possible.

Hope that helps and if you do a search on rotation i'm sure you'll get all the info you need.

That makes sense...thanks for the explanation. I've been kicking around surprising my hubby with the REAS so you just gave me more incentive to do so!!!

Thanks!!!

No Probs, if i could find the extra $$ i'd definately book the REAS it gets good reviews, glad i could help with dining ( i haven't even been on the cruise yet ) just gleaned a tonne of info from these boards.

As stated above, if you make no special requests, you will normally be placed in the rotation with children at similar ages to yours. However, when you board, if you don't like your rotation, you can go to "dining requests" in Sessions and ask to be changed. The will do it if space allows.

I've read that someone figured out how the dining rotations matched up with the ages of the children. Does anyone know if they still do it this way and what the rotation (for lack of a better word) formula is?

We are going on the Eastern on June 26. What night is the formal, semiformal and tropical. Last year we were in Lumiere for tropical and Parrot Cay for formal on Western and didn't like that. It was like dressing up at McDonald's.

I believe Formal is Sunday, Tropical is Tuesday, and Semi-formal is Thursday.
