We were just in WDW for our spring break from 3/23 to 4/1. We had a blast and ate delicious food on the dining plan. We liked it so much we changed our July trip to August to get the free dining plan.

Cast of characters: Me, DH, DS 7 and DS 4. Here are some quick reviews:

Day 1
Crystal Palace Dinner (1 ts) - We had a great dinner at Crystal Palace. The food was delicious, especially the desserts. The apple cobbler, tiramisu and cheesecake was to die for! The character interaction was also great.
Overall score: B+

Day 2
Tangerine Cafe Lunch (1 cs) - We had lunch at Morocco at Epcot. Although my dh absolutely loved the food, I thought it was okay. I had the chicken platter which included bread and hummus and couscous. The dessert (baklavah (sp?)) was delicious. Grade B-

Ohana Dinner (1 ts) - We were disappointed in the new menu. We missed the rice and thought the wings were good but very messy and hard to eat. Service was slow, we got the steak (not great quality) and then the turkey much later. The wontons were horrible, so salty with not much flavor. I would rather have had nacho chips and salsa. The potatoes were very good, although they didn't seem to go with the meal. And the dessert was delicious! It was disappointing because Ohana used to be our favorite meal. We will still go back though because we love the ambiance and we had a front row seat to Wishes. Grade B

Day 3

Tusker House Lunch (1 cs) - Although the lines were incredibly slow (there has to be a better way!), the food was well worth it. It was absolutely delicious. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and a cheesecake dessert. It was definitely the best counter service on our trip. Grade A-

Chefs de France Dinner (1 ts) - We loved this meal. I love the location of this restaurant, and it is surrounded by windows for a great, light atmosphere. The french onion soup was great, the filet mignon was good and the dessert was yummy. We also ordered nice wine. A new must do for us. Grade: A

I am sorry if I am not being that descriptive today, but I am so tired. To be continued.....

Day 4
Teppanyaki Dinner (1 ts) - I eat at a lot of Japanese steakhouses so I thought I would be disappointed here, but I thought the food was very good. The atmosphere was nothing special, it was just like any other Japanese steakhouse, but I thought the food was very tasty. I did miss the fried rice. One weird thing, they were the only restaurant that asked to see our WDW cards when we said we were on the dining plan (before we ate). I didn't understand this because I don't think you can tell from looking at the card whether you are on the plan. I would go back, though not on our next trip. Grade B+

Day 5
Pecos Bill's Cafe Lunch (1 cs) - I wanted to try a MK cs restaurant other than Cosmic Ray's so we went here. It was a disappointment. The lines were crazy, it was hard to find a table, and the food I ordered was horrible (the chicken wrap). The burgers and hotdogs are probably fine. Grade: C-

Boma Dinner (1 ts) - Yum! I loved this buffet, the food was delicious and the choices were extensive. The flavors were different, but not too weird. I loved the pasta salad and the soups. I can't remember the names of everything I ate, but it was ALL good. I would rank this up there with Chefs de France. I have already made another ADR here for our August trip. Grade: A

Day 6
Spoodles Dinner (1 ts) - We had eaten here before and were not crazy about it, but we had a much better experience this time. First we were seated near the open windows and had a beautiful sunset view. They give you a TON of food here. The appetizer flatbread is basically an entire pizza, plus you get bread to dip in olive oil, plus your main course (I had steak), plus dessert. Way too much food, but it was very good. Not the best steak I have ever had, but I enjoyed it. It was fun to walk on the boardwalk after dinner. Grade: A-

Also, wanted to mention we loved the Pop Century food court. We ate there often for breakfast and lunch. The menu is extensive and the food was really good. The foodcourt was much better than at POR. The lines moved very fast and the lay out was great. Grade: A

Feel free to ask any questions!

Thanks for the great reviews. Hopefully someone at Disney will figure out that most people liked Ohanas better in its previous form.

thanks! We are considering a trip in Sept and I was wondering about Chefs de France - just about the only WS place we haven't been. If we go, I think we'll try it!

You will love it! The food was good and the atmosphere was even better.

What was the new menu like at ohana's? How do you get a front row for wishes?? What time is good the make the reservation??

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for the reviews. It sounds like you had some wonderful meals. :)

We were also disappointed in Pecos Bill's. If you want to try a different MK CS restaurant on your next trip, we highly recommend Columbia Harbour House.

Any restrictions at Teppanyaki? :sunny:

No, none were mentioned. I had a salad for the appetizer, filet mignon with rice and vegetables for the entree, and ginger cake for dessert.

The one restriction I do know of is that you can not order the lobster as an entree because it was moved to a different section specifically so that dining plan users could not order it.

Thanks, I think we will try Columbia Harbour House in August! :sunny:

The new menu did not include the rice and the sauces were different I think. There was a peanut sauce which was good and two other sauces which I did not care for. They also had a new salad which was tasty. They no longer have the rotating bowl, they now give separate plates for each food which makes things awkward. As I mentioned above, they give horrible wonton chips to dip in the sauces, and I did not think the chips tasted right with the sauces. They still have steak, turkey and pork but I did not like the quality of steak. The best part was the cheesy potatoes, but is that a Hawaiian dish? :confused3 Oh and the dessert was a bread pudding concoction that was the best dessert I had all week, so thumbs up there.

We lucked out on our table as they gave us a table next to the window overlooking Wishes. Our reservation was at 8:00 pm so it was perfect timing for the 9:00 Wishes. The music was piped in and it was perfect. My kids also enjoyed the Coconut races. However, they no longer have hula hoop contests which my kids were disappointed about.

Ohanas still has Disney magic and I just love the Poly. Disappointed with the food though. :sad2:
