This includes Pecos Bills, Food and Fun Center at the CR, Mexican Cantina at Epcot, Benihana & sniff-sniff our last meal which was the Columbia Harbor House (I can't believe we were there yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Okay, Thursday at the MK. I had heard good stuff about the Pecos Bills fixins bar and it was all true- lots of grilled onions, mushrooms, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes....my dad made a little side salad for himself out of it! The kids had hot dogs which they hardly touched and we had cheeseburgers hold the cheese and drinks. About $28 (most fast-food places seemed to run between 26-$30 for our family of 4- sometimes we would order Josh (our 20 month old) a separate meal and sometimes he would just pick off our plates. We ate outside and BEWARE OF THE BIRDS. We were constantly shooing them away and I got pooped on. B- for the food, big fat F for the birds.

Thursday night- we stayed at the MK til closing and watched the fireworks from the ramp going to the monorail. We (Mom, Dad, me and Josh- DH and Sam stayed to ride on the cars) grabbed dinner at the Food and Fun Center at the CR. Note- I STRONGLY recommend getting your refillable mugs first thing- I bought them while DH was checking in and we really got our $$ worth of soda, coffee, tea and the CR has Icee drinks as well. For $10.99 we probably got 25 refills out of them. At least. Anyway, I got the chicken strips and a fruit salad for me and Josh to share. Dad loved their turkey sandwich there and I can't remember what Mom got. Again, they had a fixins bar where you could make a little side salad out of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles. Plus they had cream cheese, butter and lemons available which was nice if you brought your own toast/bagels. They also had a microwave for guest use. Standard food- nice big fruit plate for under $5. I think I spent about $11. Bob got Sam some chicken strips when they came back and he wanted a chicken sandwich from concourse steakhouse, but he didn't go down there til 10 and they had stopped serving food. So he pouted and had a big breakfast at the Food and Fun center the next morning. A C+ for the food, although a B for the portion.

Friday- Wahh...our last full day. The guys were awesome and let me and Mom venture off on our own for the morning and early afternoon. We went to MGM and park hopped over to Epcot and got Mexican food at the cantina in Mexico. I got the chicken taco salad and mom got chicken soft taco/fajita type things. I can't think of what they were officially called, but it was grilled chicken with onions and peppers folded into a flour tortilla. The salad was pretty good- the corn shell it came in was stale and that was a bummer cause I was hoping to break off some pieces and dip it in salsa. Wasn't worth the calories. For a salad and a bottled water it was $10.50. Being native Californians, and growing up with a lot of Mexican culture, it was amusing hearing people in front of us ordering things in Spanish...not that I speak Spanish, but I know enough to at least pronouce things with a little flair. It was just funny. Anyway....I got a fritter later on in America as my Epcot treat. I looked at the pretzels in Norway and since it was so soon after lunch they just looked too huge...but by the time I got to the American pavilion, I was ready to scarf down some deep fried dough baby!!!! :p Mexican food- a C+, fritter an A.

Dinner- our 2nd date night (see first set of reviews for our evening at Shula's)...Bob wanted Benihana. We chose this instead of Teppanyaki because Benihana does a killer fried rice and Teppanyaki only offers the yakisoba noodles. So we took a bus to DtD and walked to the Hilton. It didn't disappoint. We often go there for our anniversary or my husband's bday and we are quite familiar with the food. Bob had a shrimp sushi appetizer and some cucumber rolls. Then you get an onion broth soup, some salad with their famour ginger dressing, shrimp appetizer, fried rice (or steamed if you prefer) and veggies- onions, zucchini and mushrooms. I had the chicken and Bob had the steak and chicken. It was very, very yummy. An A. Our dining companions opened my eyes to a whole new world. My husband and I come from standard middle class, although we grew up in Silicon Valley, California so lots of people we knew had $$$. We moved to Oregon so we could have a better standard of living- you can actually buy housing here!! Anyway, the threesome sitting next to us was a married couple and their male friend and they had all met in New York City. They were going on and on about concierge level and her diamond earrings and her $650 Italian leather purse, how much $$ she made, etc. They were all very well put together and I just felt like a goof in my Disney T Shirt and fanny pack. It just opened my eyes to how the rich "folk" live and I was slightly uneasy the whole meal. Sorry for the sidenote- I just tried not to either roll my eyes or let my jaw hang open throughout half the meal. With tip it came to $75.

Saturday....our last day. I had wanted to eat at Columbia House all week cause it sounded cute, so that's where we went. We got two orders of the Fish and Chicken strip combo, a chowder bread bowl, a side of coleslaw and drinks. We got fries with one combo and carrots with another. (We tried-hahahaha- to stay semi healthy!!!) It was all really good and it's nice and quiet in there compared to Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bills. I give it a strong B. Oh, it was about $25.

McDonalds at the Orlando airport- back to reality. The boys enjoyed their burgers thought! I had a cheeseburger and we all know how these taste!

That's it---hope you had fun reading these! I know I enjoyed reading other people's restaurant reviews while I was planning! Now if only it was time to plan another trip. My goal is to get the Disney Visa and get enough reward points for some park passes. We got great deals on airfare and we were able to get the Shades of Green rate, so the most expensive thing was our passes! My goal is 2 or 3 years from now to be doing to Disney World dance again!! :jester: :p

Again, thanks for your reviews. I am so sad that this is the last one. They really made me feel like I was there eating them with you.

Thanks for the reviews. I'm sorry the people you shared a table with at Benihana made you feel uncomfortable. Usually if people have to flaunt their income or the price of their belongings, they have less class than the rest of us.

Thanks for all your detailed reviews Alice.

As for sharing that table with the conspicuous comsumers, hmmmmm...

I was always taught that discussing how much things cost in public is very bad manners. Tasteless in fact especially in front of complete strangers.

Always keep in mind too that on vacation especially at WDW, anything goes as far as your dress so hey, a goofy shirt, a mickey sweatshirt, whatever! It doesn't mean a thing about YOU the person.

I think most WDW vacationers would agree.

Sounds like you had a wonderful family vacation!
