Oops. I had this in the wrong place. :badpc:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all. We were in WDW from June 9th - 18th. I am going to do a couple reviews at a time since I tend to get wordy sometimes.

Our family (7th trip) consists of me - turned 41 while in the World
sweet dh -44
dd - 16
ds - 12
ds - 10

My best friend since childhood's family:
My best friend who I will refer to as "sis"
Her dh - both early 40's
ds - 17
dd -16

We ate some meals together, some apart with various grouping. I'll just hit on the things I remember off the top of my head but feel free to ask me any questions.

Alfredos - I have to do this one first since I have crow to eat. We have dined here twice in the past for dinner and had bad experiences in one form or another each time. I openly admit I have given it bad reviews on these boards. Since it has been a couple of years since we have been there and I love Italian food I decided to make a late lunch (3 p.m.)AR for all 9 of us and give it another try. I'm so glad I did. We had no wait when we arrived 10 minutes early to check in. It wasn't quite as "crazy" as at dinner time even though we were seated at a large table in the middle of the restaurant. Our server was wonderful. The only faux pas was when his "helper" (who seemed a little distracted by our girls since they look more like 20 than 16) came to pour more olive oil for their bread and accidentally spilled it on my friend's dd's cell phone (she souldn't have had it on the table anyway) and then she put it in her pocket and messed up their park tickets and had to have more re-issued but no big deal. He was very apologetic. One ds got pizza, other ds and I shared the lasagna which was very good. Others got the fettucine Alfredo and liked it although the portion is HUGE. Friends dh had the Salsicche e Fagioli all'Uccelletto - trio of wild boar, classic fennel and spicy Italian sausages char-grilled to perfection, served on a bed of Tuscan white beans in a spicy tomato sauce which he devoured. Sis had a Bellini. The rest of (the adults of course) tried Italian beer. Parini? I believe. Not bad. I give this meal an A.

House of Blues

This was my birthday dinner and I was a little disappointed. Not bad, but no music like the one in New Orleans. DH had the shrimp poboy which he liked. DD had jambalaya and it was good and spicy but we make better here at home. Others had salads, burgers, the Elwood, which all were fine. Not great but fine. The spinach dip looked great when it came out with lots of cheese on top which we like but once you got under the cheese it was nothing to write home about. Service ok. I don't say thumbs down but won't be in a hurry to return here.

More to come.

Thanks for the reviews - can't say either place has ever really appealed to me but nice to read about others' experiences :)

Thanks for the reviews. We have HOB's planned this year. I hope we like it and you just had an off day!

Thanks for the reviews so far, looking forward to more. I'm so intrigued to try Alfredo's (it's the only WS restaurant I haven't tried), but I can't bring myself to do it! I'm picky about Italian food and I keep imagining it's like Olive Garden.

Thanks for the reviews - my best friend and niece cant wait to eat here :goodvibes I just hope its better for me this time around - looking forward to more reviews. :thumbsup2

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thanks for the reviews. I know what you mean about Alfredo's. We ate there twice several years ago and hated it. Then last December we thought we would give it another try since it had been several years and we loved it. We are eating there for the Candlelight Dinner Package this year. :)
