Well we are back and very sad
We had a blast but 5 nights just isn't enough! We had some great food though and so here I am to tell you all about it!
6/3 Arrival day: We got in a little bit late checked in (POFQ) by 7:00 and headed over to Downtown Disney. I had made a 10PM diner reservation for Rainforest Cafe several weeks before by calling the restraunt direct, I am really glad that I did because it was a ZOO! I tried to call and get something earlier but they were "booked". I found out later that there was basically a 2 hour wait if you had not called ahead. We checked in early for our res. (9:15) and were seated within about 15 minutes. I had some "mypoints" gift cards and this was how we paid for about half of our meal. I don't have any food pics for this restraunt but the food was amazing.
We each had a salad to begin with and if I had it to do over I would have gotten a different appetizer. The salad was very large and while it was good I would rather of tried something different for the price, but we had just arrived and were ready to splurge! DH had a margarita and I got a foo foo drink whose name escapes me but was very good. Of course DH insistied we get the light up cups.
We were seated in the Gorilla room and the ambiance was all we expected and more. I was surprised to see so many small children out so late, but was not disturbed by them at all, it is Disney after all
DH had the Maine Stuffed Lobster and he raved about it! He also greatly enjoyed the NAPA veggies that came with. I had the Monsoon Grill which was also very good although I suspect not as good as DH Lobster. I really liked the crab cakes alot and wish I had ordered them instead. The flounder was tasty but the shrimp skewers were pretty greasy.
Our service was good and our waiter was kind enough to take a picture for us.
Overall Rainforest Cafe earns 4 out of 5 Donalds:
