Well we are back and very sad :sad2: We had a blast but 5 nights just isn't enough! We had some great food though and so here I am to tell you all about it!

6/3 Arrival day: We got in a little bit late checked in (POFQ) by 7:00 and headed over to Downtown Disney. I had made a 10PM diner reservation for Rainforest Cafe several weeks before by calling the restraunt direct, I am really glad that I did because it was a ZOO! I tried to call and get something earlier but they were "booked". I found out later that there was basically a 2 hour wait if you had not called ahead. We checked in early for our res. (9:15) and were seated within about 15 minutes. I had some "mypoints" gift cards and this was how we paid for about half of our meal. I don't have any food pics for this restraunt but the food was amazing.

We each had a salad to begin with and if I had it to do over I would have gotten a different appetizer. The salad was very large and while it was good I would rather of tried something different for the price, but we had just arrived and were ready to splurge! DH had a margarita and I got a foo foo drink whose name escapes me but was very good. Of course DH insistied we get the light up cups.

We were seated in the Gorilla room and the ambiance was all we expected and more. I was surprised to see so many small children out so late, but was not disturbed by them at all, it is Disney after all :goodvibes

DH had the Maine Stuffed Lobster and he raved about it! He also greatly enjoyed the NAPA veggies that came with. I had the Monsoon Grill which was also very good although I suspect not as good as DH Lobster. I really liked the crab cakes alot and wish I had ordered them instead. The flounder was tasty but the shrimp skewers were pretty greasy.

Our service was good and our waiter was kind enough to take a picture for us.

Enjoyed reading your review ~ Thanx for sharing.

Ready for another?

Even though we were up late at DTD we managed to drag ourselves up at 6:30AM to be on the 7:00AM bus to AK for our 8:20 ADR's. I was hoping we would be able to get there and in a little early and it worked out that way!

I have to say it was great walking into the park with no one else around and actually being able to enjoy the scenery without worrying about bumping in to someone. We took our time and got there in plenty of time to be seated.

At Donalds Breakfastosaurus you are seated in groups for your waiter. I have to say we appreciated the high energy pace of our waiter. As soon as we got in he told us to wait that the characters were coming right away, so he did our drinks (juice and coffee) and explained teh buffet to us. Then we got to see Pluto, Donald, Mickey and Goofy. The waiter took our pictures with each character and he did a pretty good job.

The food was your basic breakfast food. We are not ususally big breakfast eaters we were really there to see Donald yet we found the food hot and plentiful. I particularly enjoyed the biscuts and gravy, the crisp bacon and the hasbrown casserole. I did go back for a krispy creme donut and some fresh pineapple as well.

After we saw the characters our mission was to get into the park and get to Expedition Everest as fast as possible, so we did not feel rushed as some others have reported in the past.

Our waiter offered us soda's if we wanted and brought them in huge to go cups. We were out and I was safe in knowing one of my DH dreams had been met even if Doanld was wearing a safari outfit.

Donalds Breakfastosaurus gets 5 out of 5 Donalds of course: :donald: :donald: :donald: :donald: :donald:

Just before we were to leave for the day 12:00ish (we thought we had done all we wanted but now we want to go back ASAP) we went to Flame Tree Barbecue because that is what DH wanted. We had early Dinner ADR's so we deceided to share the Rib plate. It was great! The ribs came with baked beans and corn on the cob. For desert we had the frozen lemonade ::yes:: yummy. Sauces either spicy or not were available at a stand just outside in push top containers. I knew we had some bad timing with it being in the noon hour but it was our last stop on the way out so what can you do. It was crowded but we were able to find a seat with little trouble.

Here is the pic (I almost forgot to take again!)

Enjoyed the review of Donald's. We have never eaten there and I have an ADR at 8 a.m. when we go. My DH is hoping to be one of the 1st for EE that day. Any strategic advice for him? Waiting to read more reviews. :goodvibes

Thanks for your great reviews so far! I like your Donald rating system. :)
