I won't say much about counter service meals, since most of them we ate at the Pop food court and there isn't much to say
Your standard cafeteria food, I guess.
The table service restaurants we ate at were Chef Mickey, Ohana (twice, you can read my other thread for a more detailed review), Alfredo Di Roma, Liberty Tree Tavern, Cinderella's Royal Table, and 1900 Park Faire.
Chef Mickey--a buffet style meal, lots of selection. Open atmosphere, bar is nicely spread out so you don't have to wait in line too long. Food was ok, about as good as a Golden Corral I guess, pretty much the same fare. Character interaction was good and service was average. Overall we enjoyed it.
Ohana--see my other thread for a detailed review.
Alfredo Di Roma---this is a family tradition. Every year we go here to eat their delicious Fettucine. I have to say though, this year was a disappointment! They have changed the fettucine sauce recipe. It is very watered down now and tasted very strongly of half n half
My kids wouldn't eat it and they will normally eat most pasta. We had the chocolate mousse for dessert which was excellent. We had our best service at this restaurant. Our server was smitten with my 4 year old DD and kept coming over to ask her how she liked her chicken nuggets
The food was disappointing, I am not sure I would return again. The atmosphere was good and it was not crowded at all.
Liberty Tree Tavern---Our best meal at WDW! This was a last minute change in our plans, we were originally scheduled to eat at the Wilderness Lodge but decided we didn't want to leave the park just to eat lunch. It was not crowded at all. Service was brisk but the food was TDF!!!! The portions were huge, the food was delicious, DH and I rolled away from the table
and declared we had never been fuller
I would definitely eat there again (the apple crisp with ice cream is FABULOUS!!!)
Cinderella's Royal Table---We enjoyed this meal. It was crowded and we did have to wait about 25 minutes to be seated. The food was very good though. I had the Major Domo pie and it did not disappoint. Service was very good, too. My only complaint is the children's portions were small. My oldest DD ordered the chicken nuggets and she got 2 pieces and was still hungry (they get fruit instead of fries). The server was nice and did get her an extra piece of chicken. Character interaction was brief but pleasant. The atmosphere is excellent. We'd eat there again.
1900 Park Faire---Mixed reviews here. The food is very good, and service is excellent. The buffet is better than Chef Mickey's. My only complaint is the buffet is shoved off into a corner and rather small. It got VERY crowded and some of the items (like butter) were almost impossible to spot without help. Also the tables were smashed in very close together. The characters are Pooh, Tigger, the Mad Hatter, and Alice (who stayed in the lobby). Parking is a big pain unless you pay for valet (the self-parking is a hike from the hotel). Not sure we'd eat here again, although the food was pretty good.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. HTH someone.
