Greetings from the Swan - here are some "live dining review"

Thursday
lunch - Tusker House at the Animal Kindgom -
had the fried chicken sandwich - good as usual - bought Disney's (only available at the AK) meal plan - which includes your food selection, drink, and also a coupon for either a bottle of water or bottle of pop, and either a box of popcorn or ice cream

dinner - Cantina de San Angel - nachos - these come pre made and honestly I thought they weren't very good

Can recommend the mango margarita's - you can find these at the Margarita Kiosk

Friday

dinner - Cinderella's Royal Table - prime rib caesar salad and ice tea - yum yum

Saturday

breakfast - Fresh (at the Dolphin) made to order omelet, potatoes, bacon, sweet rolls etc

Sunday

dinner - California Grill - Quadruple Cheese with Sun-dried Tomatoes and Basil Pesto Flat bread, Hearts of Roaine Salad with Green Goddess Dressing, Aged Parmesan and sourdouhg Croutons, Oak-fired Beef Filet with Three Cheese Poataor Gratin, green beans and Tamarind Barbecue Sauce and Chocolate Lava cake (this was to die for - almost better than sex :) )
my dining partner had the Maple Glazed Smoked Salmon with Chive Creme Fraiche, red onions and capers flat bread, and Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli with sun-dried tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms and basil, along with the same filet

Monday

lunch - Chefs De France
the onion soup, the grilled hanger steak with black pepper sauce, and the chocolate tart (this was to be served with a lemon mousse) but I had them subsitute vanilla ice cream

dinner - Electric Umbrella - the bacon cheeseburger fries and a chocolate chip cookie

My mouth is watering reaing your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Excellent reviews, Marla - thanks!

How was the grilled hanger steak? What exactly is a grilled hanger steak? I love steak but prefer filet mignon or strip steak....so what is grilled hanger?

Thanks for the reviews! Would you happen to remember what the other flatbreads available at the CA Grill were? Thanks! ;)

Everything sounds delicious. Thanks for posting and enjoy your vacation.

Thanks for the reviews, Marla. Im considering possibly going to CG for my anniversary this year and what you had is exactly what I would order. Great minds, huh? LOL! How was it all? Anything stand out as really good?
Hope you had a good trip home.

Sorry for the delay in answering - had to unpack the menus I brought home

This is from Sunday's 12/05/04 menu from the California Grill

please note their menu does change

Brick Oven Fired Flat Breads:

Quadruple Cheese with Sun dried tomatoes and basil pesto
grilled flank steak, blue cheese spread, gypsy peppers, provolone and fried onions
grilled zucchini, eggplant and squash with hummus, toy box tomatoes feta and paprika oil
maple glazed smoked salmon with chive creme fraiche, red onions and capers

Their menu does change - I know I had a chicken dish in the past - which there was a chicken dish on the menu - but I was in the mood for beef. I am allegic to all seafood so that does sometime limit what I can have.

This was the third time I have dined here and I haven't been disappointed

In regards to Hanger steak that was at Chef de France - according to google I found this:

Hanger steak is so named because it is part of the diaphragm muscle that hangs between the loin and the ribs. Like skirt steak, hanger steak is a grainy, fatty cut that turns out beautifully if it’s well-marinated before cooking.

I had my steak medium well and it was perfect

I'm not sure if you got your answer about Fresh. We were there in January. LOVED it. Expensive for breakfast, but top-quality.

If you're a DVC Member you get a 20% discount. Still not inexpensive, but it brings it down a fair amount. Having said that the food was absolutely wonderful. Nothing like freshly made Mounds pancakes, and REALLY fresh omelet "innards." Everything I had was delicious and very flavorful. Try the sausage for breakfast.

Go at lunch and go nuts with the deserts and the unlimited sangria (the best I've ever had)!

What I want to know is how many mickey bars you had this year? :earboy2:

Sounds like you had "good eats"!
