Hi, just wanted to share our dining experiences with everyone. We had a party of 10, myself, my sister and her 5 yo twins (boy&girl) our mom, her two sisters and a cousin and her two daughters 3 & 1. All females except for my nephew.

First Night: Tues 4/29 Chef Mickey's We got this PS 5 days before our trip and were happy as it is a traditional first night meal. Food was better than last year. Especially good were the parmesan mashed potatoes. Desserts were good as usual. We sat at the same table that we sat at for 8 people last year. Crowding seemed to be a theme through out the week. Characters were fine even Donald was nice this year. Then we had to wait for Goofy because some knucklehead was messing with him and put him out of commission for 1/2 hour. Food B+, Characters B+

Second Day: Wed 5/30 Plaza Restaurant for lunch. It was our first time there and we enjoyed it very much. Good sandwiches. My mother, my sister and myself split a huge club sandwich then had the small sundaes for dessert. Kids had grilled cheese and split a small sundae. One aunt had soup that she really liked other aunt had hamburger that she enjoyed. Food A.

Dinner Park Faire We did have PS for Prime Time but it was pouring so we took a trip on the monorail and were able to be seated at 5:30pm after not being able to get a PS for anytime for this trip ahead of time. Food was pretty good, a bit more eclectic than Chef Mickey's. Great chilled strawberry soup. Characters were nice but seemed rushed. It was Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy, Perla and the Fairy Godmother in the lobby. Waitress was also not pleasant. We were seated in the far corner of the restaurant but were happy to be dry. Even got to go see Fantasmic later that night as it stopped raining by 7pm. Food B+ Characters B- Server D

Third Day Thurs May 1 Rained most of the am into the pm. Lunch at the food court at The Land. My sister, niece and I split the chicken fingers good, hot and crispy. My nephew had PB&J with Apple juice. Cousin and her daughter also had chicken fingers. Food B
Kids made chocolate chip cookies with Junior Chef program. They had a blast.

Early Dinner Beaches and Cream Excellent as advertised!!! My mom, sister and myself split a double burger and onion rings. Burger was fantastic and the onion rings are to die for. We then had individual sundaes. Niece and nephew had grilled cheese again and ice cream cones. One aunt had chicken sandwich and sundae, another had the hot dog, which she liked a lot (I am going to get it next time it looked really good!), and ice cream and cousin had burger and ice cream. We all enjoyed the meal and ice cream a lot and our server was great, however we were at a table that would have accomodated 6 comfortably.

Day 4 Friday 5/2 Breakfast Donalds Breakfastasourus Absolutely FABULOUS!! All kinds of eggs, including a made to order omlette or any other kind of egg you would like. Also had scrambled eggs, quiche, frittata, breakfast pizza, hash browns, reg and cheesy, sauges, biscuits and gravy, crispy bacon, Krispy Kreme Donuts, yogurt, fruit, muffins, cold cereal. Everything was really good. Our server was Mike, he was very entertaining. WE had a late PS so we had to wait for one of the characters. Also another family took our PS as the server did not call out the right name with party size, good thing my sister realized this and we were seated soon after. We will definately return here on our next trip. Food A+, Server A, Characters B-

Dinner Cape May Buffet The seafood lovers loved it the reat of our party thought it was okay. I was a bit disappointed by the dessert selection as it was much smaller than last year and crowded on a small table near the checkin podium. On the plus side they still had the Oreo bon bons, great as usual. Sever was non-existent for 1/2 of the meal as we waited for soda refills a long time. Food A for Seafood lovers, B for everyone else
Server C

Day 5 Saturday, May 3 Breafast at the Kona Cafe Biggest meal disappointment of the trip. Our party was split into two table separated by two huge columns when 1/2 of the resaurant was empty. The hostess had an attitude and the food took forever. Server said he dropped it the first time, I thought he was kidding maybe not! Food was also not up to the standards of the last two years. Tonga Toast barely had any bananas.
Food C+, Server B, Hostess D

Dinner Mom and aunts had fish and chips from counter service at UK and enjoyed. Said fish pieces were very small though. Kids had chicken nuggets (McDonalds) and fries from American pavilion and they ate them all. I had Nachos from the Mexican Cantina and enjoyed them very much. Food B+

Day 6 Sun, May 4, Princess StoryBook Breakfast (thanks to a wonderful person on this board) It was a bit aggravating getting in as the parking lot did not open until after 8 AM and then we were on line to get into EPCOT until after 8:20 AM and had to go all the over to the restaurant with 8:30 AM PS but I guess they know people will be late. We were seated right away, with fruit pasteries and muffins already on the table. Problem is the food is for about 3 or 4 people not fo rthe six we had on our table. Other table of 4 was right next to us. Again the skillet came with food for only 4 people and we needed to ask for seconds. Cheesy potatoes were excellent waffles were dry, bacon was mostly crispy. Kids got nice plastic EPCOT cups with plastic straws. An exta souvenier. We got to eat for 10 minutes and then the princesses came out in quick succession and we were out of there in less than 1 hour. Princesses and Mary Poppins were very nice but did seem a little rushed. Food B+, Server B, Characters B+

Dinner Crystal Palace We were a bit hestitant because we had a bad experiece two years ago but this time it was really nice. And also the only time we saw Pooh and friends the whole trip after seeing them multiple times the last two trips. My mom said it was the best Prime Rib of all the buffets. Rest of the food was also good. Nice selection of dessets. Characters were really good. They have a parade similiar to Chef Mickey's but the kids get to participate, they had a blast. Our server was also really nice. Food B+, Server A, Characters A

My only additional comment and maybe it was because we were a large party but it alsways seemed as if we were against walls and it made taking pictures of the kids with the characters tough otherwise we had some really good meals.

Sorry this was so long!

LAWalz23,

Thankks for your great reviews. Glad that you and your family enjoyed the Plaza Restaurant, its a favourite of mine too!

Thanks for the reviews. Enjoyed them very much. Really sorry to hear of your Kona experience. I think we've probably had breakfast there 50 times and we have had bad service only once. Did they explain why they didn't seat you together?

BCV23, what we were told by the hostess with the attitude is that we would be split into two tables of five which was fine because most of the PS we had said two or even three tables. In reality it was a table of 6 and a table of 4 that were separated by two square columns on the far right of the restaurant when the far left was completely empty but was filling up when we left. We are usually pretty easy going but this kind of annoyed me as we have never been to WDW with less than 7 people and the only other time we were separated like this was at the Garden grill where their boothes only hold 8 or 9 people and we had 14. We will probably give them another chance as our experiences the past two years were really good. Maybe it was just a bad day on their part.

Boy, I'd be annoyed too. That's really too bad. Didn't earn herself much of a tip did she now?!

Thanks for those reviews, they were almost similar to ours. We were in WDW at the same time as well. I totally agree that CM's was much better this time around than when we were there last August, the food seemed much fresher.

We had a terrible experience at PSB back in December and it was much better this time around, although the coffee was cold but our server took care of that very promptly (in December our food was cold and undercooked and it took the characters 1/2 hr to 45 min to get to our table). This time the princesses were there almost immediately and it didn't seem as rushed as last time. We were also seated in a different section.

I agree that the Plaza is a great hidden find at MK. I never knew it was a sit down restaurant till we stumbled upon it last December on a COLD winter day. The food is quite good too.

When we had breakfast at GF's 1900 PF last May we also experienced a not so nice server. Don't know what it is about that place??

We ended our trip with lunch at Beaches and Cream. It's been years since we've eaten there. My sandwich was ok but dd enjoyed hers and of course we had to have ice cream (the best part)! We were lucky enough to be there for a "kitchen sink" presentation! That sure looks like fun if you have enough people! The CM there told me they have been EXTREMELY busy for the past month that the night before we were there, they had a 2 hr wait! Well of course with app. 10 tables inside that's not a surprise. Too bad they can't expand into the arcade area and maybe relocate that somewhere. We sat at the counter and watched the cook perform:p

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. On my daughter's B-day we have the same exact day planned that you had on Sunday the 6th - Story Book Princess Breakfast and Pooh's Crystal Palace for dinner. How was it getting from Epcot to MK for Pooh's. We have 8:30 am also for Story Book, and a 5:00 PS for Pooh's. When should we start heading over for the 5:00 Pooh PS?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

P.S. I am getting so excited :)

Just curious.....did you have ps's for most of your dining? We are going in August, but will only be in WDW for 4 days and I don't really want to be married to our eating arrangements, but then don't want to be shut out either? What do you think?

Excellent reviews - thank you so much - you visited most of the restaurants I have made ps's for my July trip. I didn't consider Donalds Breakfastaurous at AK but after this review I might make a ps - except we aren't big on breakfasts - the only one made being PSB.

Plaza Restaurant in MK might also be worth a try - again one I hadn't considered.

Fantastic reviews! Thanks for posting them. No need to apologize for long reviews - I eat up each and every detail! :)

Great reviews! I was bummed to hear about the dessert selection at Cape May. When we were there last September it took up one entire side of the buffet area and was absolutely fabulous. What a shame they've reduced it!

Great reviews - thanks for the info! Just love B&C!

Dave,
I would give it at least 1 hour from EPCOT to MK. If you are taking the monorail sometimes they are delayed and of course there is now the mandatory bag check before you get into any of the parks. Also Crystal Palace is down Mainstreet toward the castle on the left side and you should be there a few minutes ahead of time. We actually went back to our room in between and found MK fairly crowded for a Sunday but I guess that was intentional on WDW's part when they made it a EE day.

TimeforMe,
We did have PS for all but Park Faire and the Plaza Restaurant, the one for Chef Mickeys was only made 5 days ahead of time. But we had 10 people and find that it can be hard to get that many people seated without one. If we could be flexible with our times or not so many people, we probably would not make as many. It does seem like it will be busy this August though with all the specials they are running. I really want to take advantage of the 3 nights free when you pay for 4 advertised on Mousesavers.

KCritter,
They put a carving station where the dessert part was and greatly reduced the variety of desserts avavilable. I was diappointed because last year it was only myself and mom who went to Cape May and I was telling everyone about the great desserts and variety they had.

>>^..^<<,
Oreo bonbons are any oreo cookie topped with a cookies and cream cream, dusted with cocoa and then a small chocolate on the top. They are really good.

Thanks for the reviews! You ate at some of our favorites!

Nice to hear that they put in a carving station at the Cape May Buffet, but sorry to hear that the dessert selection is not as big. Is this relatively new? Maybe they will adjust the selections and the layout.

Cape May had a carving station this past March and it seemed like they still had a lot of desserts but they were kind of jammed together. Maybe they're still trying to work out the spacing.
