Also, I notice you are now planning your second trip? Wasn't this one supposed to be the first and only? The World gets to you, doesn't it?!!!

We really believed that this would be the only trip. DH wasn't really looking forward to it, he tends to have back pain and thought he'd be miserable walking around so much. He had a great time, and was happier than I've seen him in quite a while (work is very stressful). I couldn't believe it when he agreed to upgrading to APs so we can go back in Oct. He had almost nothing to do with the planning for the first trip - "Whatever you want to do is fine", but he's even making plans for the next trip. DD doesn't know about the next trip. I'm so excited that we get to go back! :D

Just for future reference. If you happen to forget your vouchers, pay the bill on the room key. When you go to pay your bill at the hotel, you can give them the vouchers and they will adjust the bill. We found this out in Dec from the manager at Chef Mickeys.

Oh, I wish I had known that! DH had suggested that I ask at the restaurant if they could do something like hold the bill & the room key while I went back for the vouchers, but I didn't feel right doing that.

We had a large party at Chef Mickey's. One group forgot the vouchers at the resort so he went back to get them. We were waiting for him to arrive and mentioned it to the waitress, that's when she told us. I wouldn't have thought they'd do that.

Day 8: Sat. 12/18

Breakfast was the fruit and donuts purchased the previous night.

Snack: Min and Bills Dockside Diner, MGM

DD and I shared a Cream Cheese Pretzel and Frozen Lemonade. The pretzel was ok, but we really enjoyed the Frozen Lemonade.

Lunch
For some reason, none of us were very hungry this day, and we didn’t even notice that we didn’t eat lunch.

Dinner Part 1: Earl of Sandwich
We were at DTD when DD decided she was starving, and could not wait until we got back to Pop to eat, so we decided to try Earl of Sandwich. I had read many positive reviews, but when I read the online menu I knew that it wasn’t “plain” enough for me. We found out that I could order a sandwich without the sauce, etc., so I got The Full Montagu - Turkey, Roast Beef, Cheddar & Swiss. DH & DD wanted a Florentine - Chicken, Spinach, and Mushrooms. I can’t remember how we split the sandwiches, but I gave part of mine to DD & DH, and they shared the other one. We all agreed that this was one of the best places we ate at wdw. I was surprised how much meat was on my sandwich, and it was very tender. DD & DH liked the Florentine so much that they went back and ordered another one to take back to the resort when we left DTD.

Dinner Part 2: Everything Pop
We used 1 voucher

Not eating most of the day caught up with us & we decided to get a meal to share (along with the sandwich they brought back from DTD).

Chicken Penne Alfredo: Crusted Boneless Chicken, Alfredo Noodles, Breadstick
Lunar Cheesecake
Chocolate Nesquick

DH took DD up for her shower while I went to the food court. It was considerably busier than it had been all week, but school had just let out for break. When I got back to the room, DD was asleep and would not wake up. DH had eaten the sandwich from DTD by himself, so didn’t want to eat much of the food I had just bought, but he did eat some of it. It was cold again (I STILL hadn’t figured out that there were carry out lids). I really liked the coating on the chicken, and preferred it over the Fried Chicken we had had . We enjoyed the Lunar Cheesecake more than the Tie Dye one. We saved some for DD to try the next day, and she liked it better also.

Voucher savings: $2.96

Day 9: Sun. 12/19

Breakfast: Main Street Bakery

We nibbled on leftover fruit and donuts before heading to MK, but I wanted to try the French Toast Loaf I had read about. DH was very skeptical, so far we hadn’t liked the dole whip or cheese soup that I just had to have. I thought the French Toast Loaf was very good. DH didn’t care for it, so DD & I had more to share.

Lunch: Mara AKL
We used 1 voucher

Tandori Chicken Pizza
Breadsticks
Chocolate Nesquick
3 Zebra Domes and 2 Chocolate (Crunchers?) I don’t remember the exact name of the chocolate ones, and my receipt says “cake”, instead of Zebra Domes.

After MK we were heading to AK, and since DH had really liked the chicken pizza at Mara, we decided to go there first. I was very happy to find the container of zebra domes & chocolates in the grab & go section, they hadn’t been there on our first visit. DH was skeptical again, but he admitted that they were good. He actually liked the chocolate ones best, but we enjoyed both kinds. The rest of the meal was good, just as it had been before, and we split it the same as before.
DH spotted a box of the Chocolate Donut Holes, which I hadn’t seen at Pop, so we got some of those to save for breakfast.

Voucher savings: $4.22

While DH took DD to swim, I attempted to do some laundry. That day we decided to add a day on to our reservation, which meant we weren’t going to have enough clean clothes for the drive home. I was supposed to bring back some food when the laundry was done. The sign telling the wash & dry times was way off, and I didn’t want someone else unloading my clothes, so by time I got back to the room, DD had fallen asleep again, and Dh said he didn’t want anything. Since I liked the Chicken, I ordered it again.

Chicken Penne Alfredo: Crusted Boneless Chicken, Alfredo Noodles, Breadstick
Red Velvet Cake
Chocolate Nesquick

This time I got a lid, and the food was warmer when I ate it, which made the noodles taste better. I saved the cake, and we all shared it the next day. We decided it was our favorite dessert we tried at Pop.

Voucher savings: $2.96

Angel's Momma--did the breaksticks count as a "side" with the pizza at Mara? Will be using a lot of vouchers at Mara in February, and am wondering how the "side" thing works. Could you have gotten a salad instead of the breadsticks for a side? Any comments would be helpful!

Day 10: Mon. 12/20

Breakfast was the donuts we bought the day before.

Lunch: Beaches & Cream
We used 2 vouchers

Roast Beef Sandwich with fries
Double Cheeseburger with Bacon and Grilled Onions added, with Onion Rings
Lime Rickey (server made 2 by mistake, so we had an extra drink)
Vanilla Coke
No Way Jose with chocolate ice cream
Milky Way Sundae

Can you tell we really enjoyed eating here? We ordered 2 sundaes today, because I was afraid to try another Frozen Sunshine after the last one had been so bad. DD ate some of both sundaes, but didn’t like the peanut butter. The peanut butter sundae had never sounded good to me, so I didn’t try it. DH liked it, but liked the split better. We didn’t care for the bundt cake in the Milky Way, and that’s when we figured out that we would prefer to just have a plain sundae. There’s no way I could finish my sundae, but DH did. I still haven’t figured out how he did it. The food here was great. DD always finished all of her food here.

total voucher savings: $31.44

Dinner: Everything Pop

We weren’t very hungry after all of the food at Beaches & Cream, but DD was not happy that she had slept through dinner the last 2 nights.

Pepperoni Pizza
Side Cheese Fries
Red Velvet Cake
Chocolate Nesquick

I got a lid, so the food was warm back at the room. It was typical fast food pizza, not as good as at Mara. Besides the incident at Pepper Market, this was the first time a CM questioned what I was getting with the voucher. She didn’t think I should have fries with the pizza, and told me that I could only get a fountain drink. I showed her that the voucher says entrée & side, and said that I’d been getting the milk all week. She said the register wouldn’t take the milk on the voucher, and tried to show me that it wouldn’t, but of course it did.

Voucher savings: $2.99

Yes, the breadsticks were the side, and we could have gotten a salad instead. We really enjoyed Mara. Maybe it was our timing, but it was almost empty both times we were there. We had to wait a couple minutes for them to prepare it, but the food was hot that way. The pizza at Pop was already made & sitting out.

Day 11 (departure day): Tues. 12/21

Breakfast: Everything Pop

DH & I ate the leftover donuts, but when I was going down to the front desk to ask a question about the room bill, I saw someone eating Mini Mickey Waffles, so I surprised her with some. They came with bacon, which she loves, so she was very happy with them.

Lunch: Beaches & Cream
We used 2 vouchers

Roast Beef Sandwich with fries
Double Cheeseburger with Bacon and Grilled Onions added, with Onion Rings
Orange Soda with vanilla flavor added
Chocolate Coke
Banana Split
Hot Fudge & Butterscotch 3 scoop Sundae

We had to come back one more time before leaving. DD & I really liked the Vanilla Orange drink, and wish we had thought of it earlier. The sundae was really good, it liked it better without having the cake, brownie, etc. with it. I still couldn’t finish my sundae, but DH did again. I’ve already decided that even if we don’t have vouchers, we have to go back to Beaches & Cream in Oct., probably just sharing one meal.

total voucher savings: $31.89

For our family, the vouchers were a good deal. We used 21 Q&Cs, which is less than we bought. If by some chance there are vouchers past 5/05, I wouldn't purchase as many, but I would definitely use them again. We found that while we enjoyed the dessert and chocolate milk or pop, we prefer to just have water, and didn't need that many desserts. I found myself using vouchers at Pop towards the end of the trip, just because they were paid for, when we would have ordered less food otherwise.

Total Q&C savings: $235.45
Breakfast vouchers (the set I actually used) $20.51
AK child voucher $2.65 (if available, I would use the AK vouchers instead of Q&Cs)

Thank you for reading! :D

It looks like you used some of the vouchers for dinner - I didn't realize you could do that - and it looks like Beaches and Cream was the biggest savings - thanks - I just bought a few from a member who wasn't going back before May (thanks Joe) ...looking forward to trying some places we might not have before

Thank you for writing! One last question, could you get a bottled water with the voucher? We are water drinkers, too.

The Q&Cs say Lunch or Dinner right at the top. The more expensive vouchers for places like RFC are for lunch only.

We never tried to get bottled water, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.

is there someplace that lists all the places you can use the vouchers???

I just checked...PLEASE!! prove me wrong, BUT....the vouchers are no longer available to purchase..........
I checked the site, etc. You can no longer purchase vouchers direct...WOW..that should jack the prices up on Ebay for the vouchers....
