This review is dedicated to all of the previous reviewers who have posted in the last 5 months and helped me plan a wonderful dining experience at the World.
About me: love good food, love to cook, love to eat.
Table Services (all dinners except Le Cellier):
Sci-fi: Cool experience. The food was not very good. The steaks were very tough and gristly. The kids didnt like their food either. As others have stated, stick to burgers and milkshakes.
Coral Reef: beautiful restaurant, great food, great service, a very elegant experience.
Ohana: the entertainment was a bit too corny and loud. The main dinner was ok. The bread pudding dessert was awesome. Save room for it.
Whispering Canyon Cafe: lots of food on the skillet meal. The staff was entertaining. Every table seemed to be celebrating a birthday or some occasion; it got tiresome after the 14th birthday song.
Boma: Beautiful restaurant. I tried only things that I never had before. Most of the food was very yummy, even the watermelon rinds. The mulligatawny soup was the best (even though it's really an Indian dish). The zebra domes lived up to all the hype. I really liked this place.
Le Cellier: Great friendly service. Good food. The duck confit was one of the best things Ive ever tasted. The cheddar cheese soup didn't live up to expectations. We ordered the smores dessert for the kids and it was quite delicious.
Chefs of France: food was very good, service was friendly, dessert was yummy. An overall great experience.
Chef Mickey: Great character interaction. Every one of the fab five came to our table. The prime rib was fantastic. Cant say much for the other food because most of the items needed refilling. The desserts with the Mickey ears were very yummy. My kids really liked this place.
Counter Services:
POR food court, Cosmic Rays, ABC Commissary, Flame Tree, Tangierine Cafe, Columbia Harbor House: all very good. After the first day, we didnt get desserts with the meals because it was too much food.
Yakitori House: food was ok, but not a good value compared to the other CSs.
Snacks: The usual - Mickey bars, pineapple floats, Goofys Candy Co., beignets at POFQ.
Top Threes:
TS: 1. Coral Reef; 2. Boma; 3. Le Cellier
CS: 1. Tangierine Cafe; 2. Columbia Harbour House; 3. Flame Tree.
Snack: 1. Goofys Candy Co. (Create your own item); 2. Pineapple Floats; 3. Ice cream in waffle cones at Fountain Cafe (Epcot).
Best individual items:
Duck Confit at Le Cellier
Mulligatawny soup at Boma
Bread pudding dessert at Ohana
Dining at WDW was a wonderful experience and added another dimension to our vacation. The food was generally very good and plentiful. We didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes after checking in at any TS. The '07 dining plan was a great value. I would do the dining plan again on a future trip (even with the '08 changes).
