Dining Reservations

I called the dining reservations number yesterday to try to make ressies for Thanksgiving lunch or dinner at Bubba Gumps. They told me its a first come thing. I thought it was mandatory for reservations. or is that just for some places? The park closes early on Thankgiving day, im worried that without a reservation we will be waiting forever. Does a room key help with priority seating or is that just for some places too?

I don't know about Bubba Gump's specifically, but I would be surprised if Thanksgiving reservations were available anywhere until much closer to the date. We're considering going at the same time, & I don't expect to be able to book anything but Emeril's until some time in October. Let me know, if you find out something different.

I called HRH last week about Thanksgiving reservations for the Kitchen and they told me to call about a month out. Two years ago we walked into Mythos about 11:00 and they had the regular menu plus a set Thanksgiving day plate with all of the fixings.

I am pleased to report that The Kitchen seems to have made great strides in the right direction. We have eaten there many times. On previous trips, the food was just okay & the service was severely lacking at times. We had crossed it off our list of possibilities. Well, my DH & I got up early one day last week & our DS(14) wanted to sleep in. We decided to give The Kitchen one last try for breakfast. Mostly, it was convenient & we wouldn't leave the resort with our DS still in the room. The breakfast we had last week was very good & the service was outstanding. We'll definitely be eating there more than once on our next visit to HRH. We may see you there on Thanksgiving.

PS: Sorry this was OT, but I remember the discussion we had last week about dining at The Kitchen for Thanksgiving. I just thought I'd share our recent experience with you.

When I called last week, BG said they weren't taking reservations "at this time." I assumed it was because they had recently opened and were interested in gathering data on customer numbers. By the time you go in November, they could very well be taking ressies, especially with the holidays. I would call about 45-60 days out and see if they are taking reservations for Thanksgiving then.

We were just at Bubba Gump's on Sunday night. They don't even take the room key for priority seating. They said "not at this time." However, we only had about a 5 minute wait and the place was packed. I felt a bit rushed there though. Not a very relaxing meal.
