Dining Reservations Trouble

Has anyone besides me had any trouble with Dining Reservations? I called 60 days ahead of time for reservations at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland, and Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. I informed them it was my son's birthday and they asked how to spell his name and how old he would be and said they would have a cake for him at the Blue Bayou for spending his birthday there. We got off of the Pirates of the Carribean and i thought i should double check the time of our reservation (which wasnt for another 3 hours). I gave them the reservation number and all they could pull up was the Goofy Kitchen for 2 nights later. Fortunately they were able to get us in right away, but i think they gave us someone else's table because it was set for too many. they didnt know anything about my son's birthday. They dont do cakes there. They were accomodating with chocolate mousse and a candle, but it was quite dissappointing.

Unfortunately sometimes *hit happens.

I had made reservations for my DW's birthday at Coral Reef in EPCOT and arranged for a diver sign. As we ate, I got out the camera, not wanting to miss the magic moment. Divers came, and divers went, each time I would get ready to snap the shot. My DW says, "what in the heck are you doing, why are you jumping up and down, do you have to go to the bathroom"? The sign never came, so I didn't tell DW about it.

On our way out I asked at the podium what had happened to the diver sign. The young girl said that she didn't know that the divers had signs.

Just lucky I guess, never had a problem! I know I would be disapointed if it happened to me! Sorry for your trouble!

Dont get me wrong, i was thrilled that they accomodated us as best they could and that we were able to still eat there.
I was just dissappointed that they took the time to ask the age of DS and how to spell the name ect, when they dont offer cakes there. Had i known, we would have done the Goofy's kitchen thing for DS.
it's one of those things, if they tell you they dont do it, then fine, no problem. but when they say they do and you are expecting it, it's a whole other thing.....
