We are a family of 4 with 2 girls ages 6 & 9. We'll be in Anaheim the week of 8/27-9/3, and plan to be in the parks 8/28, 8/29 & 8/30. My younger daughter wants to do a Princess meal, and I'm curious about World of Color. Which is the better meal at Ariel's Grotto, breakfast or lunch? And is the WOC dining package worth it? Any other suggestions? We'll be visiting other attractions the 2nd half of the week, but can still have some meals in Downtown Disney or any of the resorts.

With only 3 days in park I think one character meal will work out well. Goofys Kitchen at DLH has a set list of characters but I don't remember which ones if you want another character meal. That's a buffet. It can also provide a touch of Disney on a non-park day if that's something you are interested in. Goofys runs at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A good rule of thumb for character meals is don't schedule them in the last 30 mins the restaurant is taking reservations for that meal period. Sometimes the characters get rushed at the very end.

If you want to see princesses I would definitely do Ariel's Grotto. You should double check this but....I think it used to be that, if you did Ariel's for breakfast you could get into the park before it opened. I am sure that depends on what time the park opens on whichever day you go. For instance, if the park opened at 10am, you could get breakfast reservations at 8:30am or 9am. Do double check that though....

Goofy's Kitchen is our favorite but there are no princesses. Usually they have Chip and Dale, Minnie, Goofy etc. The nice thing about Goofy's is that you could do it on a non park day since it is at the DL Hotel. We have done breakfast and dinner at Goofy's and liked both meals.

Forgot to mention for WOC you can get a Fastpass if you decide not to purchase a meal pkg.

Just to clarify, but the WoC Dining Package at Ariel's Grotto is only available at dinner time and there are no princesses at Ariel's Grotto during dinner (they are only there during breakfast and lunch).
