How difficult is it to get Dining reservations now? With only so many days before trip and more people being allowed in parks now they need to go back to 180 days!!!

It's difficult. It really has nothing to do with 180 days though. The difficulty is because a) not all restaurants have reopened, b) they are still seating at limited capacity, and c) they have increased capacity in the parks, so more people are vying for the reservations.

Going to 180 days won't do anything to help get ADR's. There is only so many ADR's in a day and making them available 60 days, 180 days or any other metric doesn't change that.

I think going back to the 180 days to make an ADR would definitely help those who have their trips planned 6+ months in advance.

Not everyone plans that far in advance so the number of guests vying for those reservations at 180 days would be fewer and chances of grabbing a coveted reservation would be better. Unless, I am missing something....

Ya better for those of you that can plan that far out. And better for the ones that do that will take 10x ADRs a day just in case they change their minds over the next months. It's absolutely not better for us who can never plan that far ahead.

In the past I'd make ADRs at 180 days from tentative plans, since like you, I didn't know when I'd be able to go at 180 days out. I usually had a general idea of several potential vacation dates, though. If it worked out, awesome! I had ADRs.

I was able to book Raglan Road for dinner and Homecoming for lunch, which I was excited about because they are two favorites and I wasn’t feeling lucky. We usually just make a few ADRs here and there, but for this trip I decided not to “wing it” for the places we really enjoy.

I just wanted to add my story about dinner reservations.

I'm at the point where my 60 day window just opened up. I checked the dates for dinner reservations and saw that the open dates weren't open yet. I thought that was odd, so I checked the next day and noticed that the open dates are a little less than 60 day. I check and check and see that my dates haven't opened yet. But then all of a sudden yesterday afternoon, I decided to check and all of a sudden.....the dates that are open are now 4 days beyond my 1st arrival date. It's like 1 day, my expected 60 day window isn't open for several days...and then all of a sudden....it's completely open for all my days.

As a result, I couldn't get my 1st dinner reservation at Teppan Edo on the 1st day of arrival and I had to settle for a later times at restaurants that I am looking at on other days.

So, now.....we're going to have a heavy Japanese meal in the middle of the day. It's not optimal, but I guess it will work out where we will be more flexible for dinner on where we can go eat.

The only thing I can suggest is that if you are about to approach your 60 day window, check the Disney website starting at 11:59pm EST and constantly check until 3am EST ( which is 12am PST ) once your hit the first day of your 60 day window.

I have a hard time deciding what to eat for breakfast on a daily basis! Who can plan what they want to eat 6 months out??? I like the 60 day window. But...to each his own.
Wait, so I'm not the only one that has planned out everything 60 days in advance where I already know not only which park I will be at on which day but also where I will be at hour of the day at the park? ;)

I'm currently planning out where to eat at the different parks since we already know which parks we will be at on which day. Since I already decided that we will only eat at 1 of the Table Service restaurants, that helped narrows down my options.

I can see why it maybe hard to figure out what you will be having for Breakfast 60 days in advance. But the choices and options maybe narrowed down for you based off of where you go and when.

For example, when I was planning out where to eat at MK....I realized that the Table Service restaurants there are limited while the Counter service isn't that good. As a result, this narrowed down what options that I could and would choose from....thus making it easier to figure out where to eat.

Whether it’s 180 or 60 days out, it’s a long time. However, I’d much rather them bring back the 180 mark. I already know where I’m staying and what parks I’m going to, so I might as well know where I’m eating.

Keep checking. More times do open up as people change their plans.

I was thinking of checking all the way up until the day before. The plan is always to eat at a fancy sit down table service restaurant for dinner at each of the parks while having counter service for lunch.

But after discussing it with my Wife and given that we are going straight to Epcot on the day that we arrive from a red-eye flight; it maybe better to do lunch at Teppan Edo, walk around the park, then likely leave before dinner to eat elsewhere and then rest at the resort. Because I have always found that Epcot was the one park where we do far more walking around then going on rides compared to the others and this will be a long day for us anyways, leaving the rest of the day as an "open day" where we can wing it based off of how we feel is probably better.

We have a trip planned with where we want to eat at what times for 16 months from now... and that one was planned since last November... The only thing that messes with us is when they change the park hours it means choose either breakfast res. or rope drop...

I booked mine Wednesday morning. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. I did pretty much get what I wanted, including CRT and Sci Fi. I got on 6am EST, and all of my days were available. It was easier than when I have booked Thanksgiving trips. The more restaurants that open, the better it will be.

I’m getting frustrated with the daily checking. We are offsite so I can only do one day at a time. I was able to get some hard ones but today couldn’t get anything at Yak and Yeti? When did that become so popular?

Does Homecomin' book following Disney guidelines? Only through the website / phone? 60 days right now?

If you have a Landry's card you can walk right into Yak & Yeti...
