What is required of you when you check in at a restaurant where you have a reservation? Will you have to verify that the person who made the ressie is present, with a DL or something? Just curious because my parents are going with us and I was wondering if she could try to make some ressies under her name but what if it was a reservation for just my family of 5 instead of us plus them which makes 10? Will we be turned away if my Mom made the ressie and she isn't present?

They don't check ID. Just give mom's name when you check in.

We have never been asked for id. Just give the name the ressie is under and it isn't a problem.

I do always carry my confirmation # with me and I don't think I have ever been asked for it but my niece has.

You should be ok with the name but I agree with PP in having the confirmation number with you.

Thanks for the info! Another question......we are staying off property and won't have EMH. Is eating at 8am for breakfast a good way to be in the park early before RD and will we be able to get in line afterwards before those waiting at the RD for the park to open? I'm considering Akershus at Epcot, CRT or CP at MK, and Tusker House breakfast w/characters at Animal Kingdom. Is an 8:05 ressie early enough to get you out in time to be in line ahead of or at least the same time as everyone at the RD? I'm thinking Akershus might be too far away from Frontierland for it to be advantageous?

ETA: Also Cape May Cafe for breakfast.....this restaurant is near epcot......good location or only at dinner time for entrance to world showcase?

Sorry can't answer the Cape May question, but yes you can get into the park early if you have a adr.

Now, if you have an 8:05 ressie like you said and rope drop is at 9am you MAY be out in time. But to be honest you will be rushing like a deer being chased by a lion.
Sometimes it take a few minutes to get seated then chat with the server for a beverage and unless you eat like someone starved it will be close to 9am before you get the check.
Also the characters, depending on where you are sat it may take 30 mins or so before you start seeing them.

If it were me I would decide, is seeing RD more important than getting in the park early and having a nice meal. Then go with which is more important.

Akershus is in Epcot, world showcase, frontierland is in MK - so yes, too far away to be any use;) If you meant Tomorrowland, Epcot is huge, so it depends on which ride you were hoping to FP.

Tomorrowland is also pretty far from Epcot, also being in the MK. Future World is pretty close though!
