Dining Reservation Question

Hey everyone. I'm sorry if this is posted somewhere and I missed it. It seems like most of the people here at DIS stay on site and we're planning too, but we haven't made up our mind yet and I was wondering if we are still able to make our dining reservations if we don't have a hotel reservation. We already have our flights booked for Dec. 2 - 10 so we're in that ninety day window I think. I know that we couldn't make every day's reservation all at once, but I'm afraid my dd will miss out on the Princess dining on her birthday Dec. 7. Should I start calling now?

You don't need a hotel reservation, they will ask for your home phone. Just tell them you are "off-property." According to an ADR calculator I just quick checked, 90 days from Dec 7 is Sept 8. If you want Cinderella's Royal Table you will need to call at 7 am Eastern time that day and PRAY that you get it. There are many many tips on how "exactly" to dial to increase your odds. If you want the Akershaus (sp?) princess dining, it isn't as important, but you still should call sometime early that day for it.

...and, there have been reports of people getting dining reservations outside of the 90 day mark. So call now and TRY. The only thing they can tell you is NO! If they do that, call back at least 2 more times. You will get different people on the phone and they might be a little more "helpful."

Today is 90 days from Dec 2, your arrival day. It might be helpful to try and book a "dummy reservation" today for Dec 2, and THEN ASK for Dec 7. Resort guests have a 90+ 10 day window that would allow them to do this. You might get a CM that doesn't exactly "get it" if you know what I mean...

Good luck.
