Amazing fiance just decided to take me to disney for a really quick weekend, randomly, like a week ago. So as a surprise for him, I decided to make a reservation for a character breakfast. He hasn't been to WDW in 8 or 9 years, so even though it's a very short trip, I want to make it memorable for him. However, obviously, this late in the game, there weren't very many options for a character meal. I was able to get us the 1900 Park Fair for breakfast at 10 am. I've never done that one before, so I'm unsure what to expect. Also, it's our only day at the park, so I want to get as much time in possible. The park opens at 9 am that day. Would it be worth it to go to the Magic Kingdom for rope drop, do one or two rides, and grab the monorail to get to the grand floridian? Or should we go to breakfast first and just go to the park afterwards?

Sorry, but I'd rather do an early lunch than a late breakfast if you have only one day at the park. Unless your park is going to be very empty that day, I would switch.

Did you check Crystal Palace at the MK? My DBF HAS to eat there on every WDW trip! He says the french toast is to die for and it is a fun place to interact with the characters. Plus, you will already be at the park.

As for 1900 Park Fare, we tried this on our last trip and neither of us enjoyed it. Not sure if this is just me but the older you get - the harder it is to interact with "face" characters in my opinion! Plus I did not enjoy the food very much.

I can relate to this. I love talking to the characters in costume, but I'm not a big fan of the princesses. We had breakfast at CRT a couple weeks ago, and that was definitely different. Although I did enjoy seeing Jasmine:rotfl:

As for the OPs question, unless there are morning EMH, then I dont know if it would be worth it to go into the park for 30-45 minutes tops. I would probably just go to breakfast and then plan on staying until close.

Enjoy your last minute trip, I sure could use one of those:thumbsup2

I probably wouldn't bother being there at rope drop only to leave so soon, either. I'd probably sleep in a little, go to breakfast, and stay till closing.

Have fun!

How about breakfast at Chef Mickey's 'n then jump the monorail to MK?

Actually suceeded in gettting Chef Mickey's for dinner the night before. I'm really excited. I cancled the ADR for 1900 Park Fair

:yay: Chef Mickey's is a fun choice and I am sure you will be less stressed without a late breakfast.

Try Crystal Palace, keep calling, someone may cancel, thats right in MK, so that you can not miss out on traveling time. We ate there in November and loved it. But if u keep 1900 Park Fare, then I would still do rope drop, you can probably get in 2 of your favorite rides, then hop on monorail to GF. Enjoy, have fun.
