Here are some reviews from our trip last week - it was me, DH, DS(11) and DD (8). We enjoyed pretty much all our meals this trip. We got a great rate on our room so no dining plan for us this trip but we saw many using it and we may try it next time. We brought some food with us and ate at Counter service meals a few times - I will only be reviewing table service. We tried lots of new places this trip. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Hoop Dee Doo Review What a great way to start a trip. This was our first time to Hoop Dee Doo and we really enjoyed it. We had a 7:15 seating with great seats, 2nd row from the stage. I had made ressies about 5 months in advance. Our server was Nancy and she was very attentive. We had Salad, Bread, Fried Chicken, Ribs, Corn and Nancy brought us Mac and Cheese when she noticed DD not eating much. The strawberry shortcake for dessert was scrumptious! Also DH received his first Magical Moments certificate here from Nancy - lol - Nancy asked if we were celebrating anything special for our trip and DH laughed and said "Yep My bday in 3 months" - Nancy got a kick out of that and surprised him with a Magical Moments Cert shortly afterwards. The show was great and the food was good - we will definately do this one again!

Cinderella's Royal Table Bfast This was our 3rd time to CRT for Bfast. We were one of the first tables seated and we given a great table by the window, well I thought it was great until the sun started glaring through it - LOL. I know there are mixed reviews on the food here , we have always found it to be good and it was great this morning too. However this time we didn't have the best server, she just seemed a bit flustered and she got a bit upset when we asked for choc milk for the kids, she brought white milk and didn't seem happy when we told her she brought the wrong milk. Maybe she was new and just getting the hang of it , we tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. We got our food in a timely matter. We started with a basket of muffins and breads and fresh fruit. We all got the hot breakfast; eggs, bacon, sausage and stuffed french toast for DH and I and french toast sticks and bacon for the kids. Everything was hot and fresh. The princesses came out shortly after we were sat. We saw Cinderella, Aurora, SnowWhite, Mary Poppins, and Belle. All the characters were good except I must say that the girl playing Cindy just didn't look the part, last time we had a great Cindy, this girl looked like Kelly Clarkson in a blonde wig. Each character spent a good bit of time talking to both DD and DS and we got some great pics. We have always enjoyed this bfast and will most likely return if DD wants to go.

Boma This is also a first for us this trip and it did not disappoint. We arrived to AKL early to look around - it is a beautiful lodge. After looking around we checked in and we were promptly seating within about 5 minutes. I have to admit my family and I are not great buffet people - we just do not eat that much but we really wanted to try Boma's and I am glad that we did. I really enjoyed the Salmon, Primerib and a Seafood type gumbo. DH tried just about everything - he didn't find anything he didn't like. DD who is very picky was happy the the chicken strips and fries on the kids section. And everyone loved dessert - The Zebra Domes were very yummy!! We will return to Boma.

Donalds Breakfastosaurus Lots of firsts for us this trip as this one was a new one for us too - We rode the early bus to AK from our resort and got to AK in plenty of time for our 8:00 seating. Again we were one of the first families seated and we got through a fresh hot buffet. The food was good and hot , your typical breakfast fare. The kids enjoyed the Krispy Kremes - yum!! Shortly after we got our food the characters came out , we saw Donald, Mickey,Pluto, and Goofy - we only got to see them once but that is because we ate fast and were up and out before they could come back around. This place was fun and the food was good - we would return in the future. Also as a side note - when we were done we walked over to the Dinosaur ride to take pics - we were the only family there when a CM came up and asked if we would like to be the first family to ride the Dinosaur - we said sure as more people were walking over that way - So we got to ride Dinosaur by ourselves and got a great picture!!

Marrakesh This one is also a first to us and we made our PS the same day. We got in with no problem - I am so glad that we tried it - this was one of my favorite meals - The kids each ordered from the kids meals - chick and fries, DH and I split The combination appetizer for two and Mediterranean Seafood Platter. It was all wonderful! We were pleasantly surprised by this meal and we will be returning here. The bellydancer was fun to watch too- LOL

Prime Time Cafe Another first for us - LOL We went here for lunch - we had a 12:05 but checked in at 11;30 and were seated right away - we really enjoyed our lunch here - our kids are kind of shy and we got a great waitress who picked up on that , she didn't pick on them too much but just enought to get some of the great atmosphere they have here - LOL The kids each got the kids drink with the cup and glow cube. DD had Chicken nuggets and fries, Ds Hot dog and fries - DH and I split an order of onion rings and the Stacked Sandwich with turkey - it was really good and plenty for both of us. We will return here also.

Liberty Tree Tavern This is our new favorite!! This is also a first for us , LOL and it was awesome!! We checked in about 20 minutes early and were seated right on time - this place was packed and I was worried that we would be there awhile but we didn't wait long. The characters here were great - we got to see them atleast 3 times! They played and interacted with the kids and it was so much fun! We got to see Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale and Minnie! Our server was very attentive and the food was great! I loved the salad with the strawberry dressing - I have to admit I wasn't thrilled about the menu when I made this PS but now I see why everyone raves about it - the food and the character interaction makes this one of the best character meals in Disney World. This will be a definate must do on our next trip!!

Coral Reef Dh and Ds went here for lunch while Dd and I were at the Princess Tea - They had a 12:05 lunch here - I forgot to tell DH to request a tank side table but he said that they had great seats and even though they were not next to a tank they could see everything very well. DH had the Divers Special and said it was really good - He really liked the Lobster bisque and he got Ds to try it too. Ds orderd a pizza from the kids menu. I definately want to try this one next time as DH was very pleased with his meal.

My Perfect Princess Tea This was a treat for DD for getting all A's this year - She absolutely loved it! The kids get apple juice and a plate of pb and j and ham and cheese teas sandwiches and grapes, The adults get tea and a plate of assorted sandwiches, cheese , crackers and grapes - it was good. The cake for dessert was great! It was a white cake with strawberry cream filling- very yummy! DD got a crown, Doll, Charm bracelet and a Rose. The girls got plenty of attention from Rose Petal who sang and told stories to the girls. Then Aurora came out and spent time with each girl - she was awesome! My DD throughly enjoyed her special tea and I say it was well worth the price for a one time event.

Teppenyaki Also a first for us - LOL We really enjoyed our dinner here - The chef was entertaining and the food was really good! Even our picky DD enjoyed the childrens chicken entree - both kids loved the kid friendly chop sticks and they used them for the whole meal. Dh enjoyed a Sushi Sampler and he had Lobster Scallops and Shrimp - I had the Scallops and Shrimp and DS enjoyed the kids shrimp - all of us ate til we were stuffed. This was a fun and good meal - we will definately return here.

Crystal Palace We had lunch here after our Family Magic Tour ( AWESOME tour!!) We were seated right on time and we enjoyed the lunch buffet - The characters were a little slow to come around but we sat back and took out time. Nothing really stands out as great but it was good. We would go back but I think I prefer the bfast here.

Le Cellier Our last night we enjoyed dinner here - this was our 2nd time to Le Cellier and it was just as good this time as the first. We were seated with in a few minutes of checking in. I got a cup of cheese soup - wonderful esp with the pretzal bread - Ds got the children's steak, DD - chicken nuggets ( again) DH got the special steak with Lobster tail and I got the 7 oz filet with cream cheese mashed potatoes. Everything was wonderful and we definately stuffed ourselves here. We will also return here again in the future!

Chef Mickey's This was our last meal before we left and it was really good. This was our 2nd time for Bfast here. We had a 7:30 bfast and we were seated right away - it wasn't busy yet but it started to get busy after we were done. Everything on the buffet was hot and fresh - and we enjoyed a bit of everything - I really like the cheesey hashbrowns they have for Bfast! The characters came around pretty consistent. We were laughing though that when they played the Celebration song that we must have been the only table in our section that wasn't celebrating a Bday - all the tables around us had atleast one person with a cupcake and candle. We enjoyed our bfast here and will definately return.

Family Magic Tour LOL - I know this is not a food review but it is worth mentioning that this is one of the best things that we did on our trip! It was awesome!! And we will definately do this one again - if you want to meet Peter Pan this tour is a must do!!!

Hope I didn't bore you all- enjoy! :flower:

I enjoyed your reviews. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Hoop Dee Doo sounds like a great way to start a WDW vacation.

Nice to read a review of Coral Reef. Don't see too many of them here on the DIS. We used to go there often when our children were young and I don't think there is a bad table in the place.

Thank you - We were going to try to have lunch together at Coral Reef but after I booked the Princess Tea for DD and I, we thought that DH and DS would enjoy a nice lunch together - I really am looking forward to trying Coral Reef next time though.

What a great attitude that you have!!! Thanks so much for the positive reviews!!!

You did a great job on your dining report! I really enjoyed reading about your choices. We are looking forward to our first trip to Le Cellier this july for our anniversary :goodvibes My DH esp. enjoyed Boma our first time so we are going back again in July :teeth:

I just LOVE detailed reviews! You hit a number of places we have not tried yet, so I appreciate the time took to share so much info.

Thanks!

Thanks you have me interested in the tour now.

The Family Magic Tour was awesome! And I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try it! My kids are still raving about it! It is $25 per person however you can get a discount with AAA or Disney Visa. We used our Disney VIsa and got 20 % off. It is limited to 20 people. We had a total of 15 in our tour; 7 kids and 8 adults. The tour is a scavenger hunt throughout MK - it is a story of Peter Pan hiding Capt Hook's Hook somewhere in the park and we must find it before Capt Hook destroys the park. The kids loved reading the clues off the map and finding them throughout the park and they loved seeing their parents doing all the silly things along with them - things like skip for 10 paces , hop for 20 paces , acting like a croc, butterfly or ballerina - it was fast paced and fun - never a boring moment - then near the end the kids got a private meet and greet Peter Pan and Wendy - I bet we got to spend aleast 35 - 40 minutes with Peter Pan and Wendy - they told a story, posed for pics, signed autographs and interacted so much with the kids and grown ups. The kids loved sittting in the front row of Mickey's Philharmagic and watching it with Peter and Wendy - after philarmagic Peter and Wendy presented each family with a Magical Moments Certificate. We really enjoyed this tour and we will definately do it again. :flower:

Wish I had known about the tour when my kids were younger! Now, they are "cool" 13 and 16 year old teen boys, not sure they would get in the spirit :confused3 pirate: :earboy2:

Really enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thankyou so much for posting. I did a lot of the same PS as you in january, including the family Magic Tour. Just wanted to say that we only had Wendy on our tour as Peter Pan was involved in the Cinderella stage show so couldn't be there, although he did sign the certificate. We also had a slightly different storyline but it was absolutely wonderful. Don't worry about being too old as I think its fun for all ages. Great food and great times for you, so thanks for sharing.

I just LOVE that picture of "Chef Chip"!! So adorable! Was that at Chef Mickey's? I might have to go there just for the photo ops!

Yes, it was Chef Mickeys. Chip decided my two needed a good tickling. There are lots of great photo ops there and lots of mischief, like Donald Duck tormenting Chip and Dale, pulling on their apron strings. Very funny to see Donald laughing.

Thankyou for your lovely comment,
Claire

Just a question about the corn at the Hoop Dee Doo....was it just corn in a bowl or was it a corn/onion/peppers mix?

Thanks!!

Thanks!!

It was the corn/onion/pepper mix - but there were not alot of onion and peppers in it. I'm not sure if you could ask for just corn with no mix.

Thanks for the wonderful reviews!! We are thinking of trying Coral Reef for lunch as dd would enjoy the atmosphere.
