Dining recommendations near Universal/IOA

Hi! We are planning our first trip to Universal (after many trips to WDW) and I'm curious of what are great dining options near this area. I'm particularly looking for "off-site" (not in the resorts or CityWalk) options. We are absolutely not picky about food.

And, sorry if I should have posted this in the universal area. Like I said, I'm a total newbie to this!

not sure about the area once you have left US/IOA - pretty sure it has all the regular dinning - Golden Coral, Perkins, - that WDW has - but you want something great - maybe in one of the resorts close to the Convention Area?
