How much money would you budget for a family of 5 ( 2 adults, 8yr, 5yr, 13yr) per day for food? We don't have to do formal dinners, thinking just quick services for lunch and dinner. Thanks

I'm wondering about food budgeting myself. There are 4 adults going, and I have no idea what to expect.

You can check out menu prices on www.allears.net under Dining. From past experience at CS with no dessert we allotted $10-15 per adult/per meal and $6-7 per child/per meal. We also budgeted $20 per day for 1 treat each (ice cream, popcorn, etc). If you are not bringing your own water you can either get free cups of tap water at CS locations or purchase bottles for $2.50 each. We bring all our own bottleed water for the day so we don't have to wait in any more lines than we absolutely have to!

Hope this helps and have fun.

I plan with $40 per person per day per adult (12 and older) and $30 pppd for younger than that. Those days when you want to splurge, you eat light for brekkies and lunch, or you scrimp for a couple of days to pay for that 2TS meal... ;)

I think the basic dining plan is great because it is a set budget which is paid before going and you don't have to worry about how much things cost.
You get 1 CS meal, 1 TS meal and 1 Snack per person per night of stay.
We got it for free again this trip and WDW has already come out with
Free dining for a lot of 2011.
This discount must be booked by 12/20/10.

Free dining available most nights 10/1-10/7/10, 10/22-10/28/10, 11/12 – 11/18/10, 11/27 – 12/2/10, 12/10 – 12/21/10, 1/1 – 1/5/11, 1/9 – 1/13/11, 1/21 – 2/3/11, 2/11 – 2/17/11, 2/25 – 3/3/11, 5/27 – 6/2/11, 8/19 – 9/29/11. All discounts are subject to availability, certain restrictions apply. Blackout dates may apply.

To pay for it I think it's around $42.00 per adult (10yrs and older) and $12.00 (per child 9yrs and under).

I'm working on this myself. Since we are in the blackout dates for FD, I'm wondering if I should just purchase the QSDP and be done with it.

When I've chaperoned school trips in the past, I've gotten by on $25 per day for myself with no desserts, no snacks, CS only, and buying the resort mug. Of course, I know my kids will be wanting more drinks and snacks.
