We have made reservations for all but 2 meals, we're looking for something off the beaten path (so to speak) we're staying at the POR and will be there for 10 days. We're a group of 3 adults & an 8 year old boy.

I've book the following, any other suggestions? Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Liberty Tree Tavern, Raglan Road, Primetime Cafe, Kona's, Beirsch Garten (Germany), we have Mama Melrose's booked but I've heard alot of negative reviews so I'm thinking of canceling it. We always eat at the castle so we're looking for something different, we don't like Planet Hollywood or Wolfgang Pucks. All of the dinner shows are booked (our trip is a last minute decision)
and we are on the dining plan.

you have done pretty good so far........have you thought of House of Blues in DTD.......they have awesome food. another maybe for your young person is the Rainforest Cafe.......there is one in AK and also in DTD...
another thought is maybe one persons likes and dislikes are so different from others......I have heard both good and bad about some of my favorite restaurants and we still go ......
Hollywood and Vine is wonderful for us when we have the whole family with us....alot of people dont care for it but ALOT do....
Hope you go and have a great time

We have a HOB in New Orleans and we've eaten there a few tmes, the food is good. Thanks; we always eat at the Rainforest, is that offered on our dining plan? I'll have to check it out. Several people said that Boatwrights is good, I think I'll make reservations there for our first night, our flight comes in at 4 so I'm thinking by 7:30 we should be all settled in and ready to eat. Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions.

We really liked Boma's. It is definately different from the norm. The way it is decorated is nice, there is a plethora of food to try (most we had never encountered before) plus a little sections of "the usuals" (mac & cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, popcorn type chicken) for the young or not so willing to venture far from their norm. After dinner you can go outside and see the animals. We will definately go back our next trip! It is on the dining plan.

The one place we WILL NOT GO TO AGAIN is Boma's....YUCK! - but to each their own!

I was going to suggest Chef Mickey's. I noticed that you didn't have O'Hana's. That was one of our favorites. - and perfect for an 8 yr old. Not too childish, yet fun and up beat!

What you have so far looks really good. I agree that Ohana's would be a good pick. My son was 9 when we ate there last yr. and he even participated in the festivities. I just wish we would have been seated closer to where the staff started the activities. We also liked Boma's breakfast. (We are going to try the dinner buffet this Dec.) We like 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace better (they are character breakfasts). Chef Mickey's is a really fun place to eat. The food wasn't the best when we went last, but we are giving it another try. Even if a place gets bad reviews, I will try it and see for myself. You may miss out on your future favorite place to eat. I hope you all have a great trip :)

Since you are at POR Boatwrights has great food breakfast and dinner.

I agree. I was a little nervous about making the reservation at Boatwrights but the food was great for both breakfast and dinner.... Go for it!!! You probably won't be disappointed...
