Dining Question

I was not sure where to post this question. So I am posting it here. My wife and I along with DD(16) make semi-annual trips to the world. DW and I are considering Bariatric (Gastric-Bypass) Surgery to take care of some extra pounds that we seem to not be able to shed.

What are our options for eating at Disney while we are going through the recovery period and substantially smaller portion sizes that we will be allowed to eat? Many of the meals that we eat there today are too much for us now. Do many of the dining locations allow for this and allow a smaller portion size option?

Right now we are on another personal attempt to lose this weight on our own without the surgery, but I want to know if I have the surgery will I still be able to enjoy my vacations without too much hassle and struggle.

Any advise or previous posts you can point me to would be appreciated. :)

There actually have been quite a few threads about this if the search function works at all, you might want to try that and see what everyone else has said.

From what I understand, WDW doesn't make any half meals or anything HOWEVER you could:

1) split table service meals with someone else (the only WDW restaurant that charges a split fee is Shula's and they are not WDW owned). We have split many times and have never had a problem with it. You wouldn't be able to do this for any all you can eat meals (like endless skillet at WCC) or buffets, of course.

2) order kid's meals at counter service locations, if the meal even appeals to you. Or split a counter service adult meal with another adult.
