You know what that means...Now I have to pay adult prices for any buffets we do. Until DS starts eating more we won't be doing as many of those as we've done in the past. Also, when I made my PSs for Spring Break, the CM asked me the age of DS and I'm guessing she made the PSs for 2 adults when I told her he was 12. This being the case, if we go to a restaurant and there is a kid's menu does that mean they will not allow him to order off the kid's menu? He is a very picky eater and doesn't eat that much. If they won't let him do that can I order one entree and ask for another plate and split it with him? Is there an additional charge for an extra plate???

Hmm, I would stick to counter services places mainly. Sunshine Food Fair at Epcot is good because there are lots of choices in a condensed area. Also, for kid friendly food and a great value, try Trails End Buffet over at Ft. Wilderness Campground. It takes about 10 minutes to get over there via an enjoyable ferry ride from the MK.

DS is 12 and has been for our last 3 trips. We paid adult prices for 3 of the 4 character meals-at one the waitress knew his age and saw what he ate and I guess lowered him to a child!:p He was able to and DID order off of kids meals at 50's Prime Time. He always wants the kids meals at counter service too. No problem with this anywhere. :D
We will be doing less because of this increase in the price for him at buffets. In fact we did not go to Boma while at AKL because of what we would have to pay for him to eat next to nothing. :(
DD is 9 and I dread when we pay adult prices for her tickets in a year. I wish there were junior rates for food and tickets!

I know what you mean. This year I have a 10 year old - so I have to pay adult passes. I also have a now 3 year old so she no longer qualifies for an infant in a room - which means an upgraded room. Also, we have to pay for her meals and she eats about the size of a 50 cent piece at each meal. I'm still going to do what we normally do though - what can you do? Have fun!!!!

I have two older children and they do not eat much! Usually my son (13) orders from the kids' menu. We have never been given a hard time about this. My daughter (14) splits a meal with me. If we are really hungry we will order a dessert or an appetizer too. We always tip as though they ordered from the adult menu.

As far as buffets go, we do limit the number we do. One or two a trip.

I hope Disney is listening and changes their policy. It is ridiculous to charge $22 for a 13 year old child that eats chicken fingers from the kids' buffet!
