Thanks for the clarification. But I am disappointed in Disney that they allow people to make ADRs they cannot keep. It prevents others from legitimately getting an ADR they can actually attend.

Disney really just hurt themselves as they just lost out on the money we would have spent at that restaurant.

I doubt they lost any money. Right now, restaurants are pretty fully booked & someone else probably grabbed that dining spot. Did you really not know your gold AP had black out dates & what they were??

Just wondering how you thought you would get to the restaurant. Since you didn’t have a valid ticket for that day, did you have a park reservation?

Yes we did have a park reservation for Epcot. We thought the Gold block out date started on Sunday, not on Saturday. I would have expected the Park Reservation system to prevent us from booking it since it was block out date, but obviously it only cares that I have an annual pass, not the type of annual pass.

Oh, so it let you make a PARK reservation?? I totally misunderstood. I though you were questioning why it let you make a dining reservation. That is a whole different thing. It absolutely shouldn‘t let you make a park reservation if your pass is blacked out. But, Disney‘s IT regularly messes things up, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

Allowing you to make a park reservation on a blackout date was definitely a glitch.

Still curious, what was the order you booked? Park reservation first or dining first?

I know the system doesn't typically allow APs to book parks for blackout dates.
