As of right now, we are not on DDP. If we get a code, I will add it to our reservation. Therefore I am booking ADRs on Monday as if we do have DDP and will cancel accordingly.

No dining plan restaurants:
Rainforest Cafe
SciFi
Cape May or Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Kona

If we get the dining plan, we will add:
Akershus
O'hana
and of course will keep Cape May/Crystal Palace and cancel Rainforest

Anyone have an opinion on Cape May breakfast vs. Crystal Palace breakfast? If it helps, we have been to CP for breakfast before in 2009.

I would say it totally depends on where you are coming from and where you are going to that day. Unless you are staying at an Epcot-area resort, Cape May breakfast is one of the hardest meals to get to; you basically have to go to DHS and take a slow boat or a pretty darn long walk to the BC/YC. OTOH, there is no sense in a CP breakfast unless you were planning on spending at least that entire morning in MK.

Bottom line is that I'd plot out my park days first, then see about making the meal plans fit the park plans. Restaurant choices are something you can change; park hours, not so much.

I think the food and atmosphere is much better at Cape May. If you have your own car or spring for a cab, I'd choose Cape May. If you want to use Disney transportation, stick with Crystal Palace.

I ate a Cape May in Oct 2011, I havn't eaten at CP for brfst in ages. I will say getting at Capew May is a challenge in itself unless you drive or call a cab, I also found food to be cold and things not refilled during our meal and we had a 8a brfst. WE had Goofy, Donald and Minnie at our brfst. I will say CRystal is a nice place to catch the 100 acre crew of Pooh, eeyore, piglet, tigger, I have also never had lenghy empty pot issue in all my trips (mostly dinner).
I know with our crew we ate at Cape faster than we do at CP and had less wait for charcters.

Thanks guys! I didn't realize Cape May was so difficult to get to. As of right now we will have a car (unless airfare gets cheaper) but we don't really want to drive once we're onsite. We ate at CP 3 years ago for breakfast (as you can prob tell by my siggy pic) and liked it. Hmm.......

I actually kind of am lucky b/c we have two reservation numbers so I guess I could book multiple stuff and then do more thinking on it. Our reservation day is Monday and we JUST booked the trip so I haven't had a lot of time to think about dining yet.

We really enjoy the CP breakfast. That said, it looks like the Cape May breakfast has the characters dressed up to go swimming--if we still did breakfast ADRs, the Cape May breakfast would be worth it to us for the pictures alone! We personally don't think the walk from DHS to YC/BC is all that bad, maybe about 20 min for us.
