Right now we have room ressies only. I am considering calling AAA and seeing if I can upgrade to a package with dining. I am doing all the math as far as the cost. My concerns are:

1. I have a 7,4,1.5 year old. I need to be flexible and if I have a PS and need to cancel because we are having disney meltdown. Am concerned I may not use all my "allotted" meals. doesn't mean we won't eat the same amount, but if I have to end up getting a pizza for the evening because the kids need down time, etc.
2. I have reservations from Sat-Sunday. I had planned to buy park hopper tickets for 7 days from AAA. I planned to use Saturday (the day we fly in) as a no park day and just swim in the evening. Will the package w/the dining require me to use the first saturday as a day (and thus be an 8 day ticket) and get charged a full days dining?

Thanks for any thoughts!!

The dining plan is charged and meals are counted according to the # of nights on your reservation, not days. For Sat to Sunday, you would have 8 nights, therefore 8 "days" worth of meals--8 sit-down, 8 counter svc, and 8 snacks per person. You can buy park tickets for whatever number of days you want, it doesn't have to be equal to the number or nights or days you're staying.

Hope this helps!

Also remember that the difference between a 7 and an 8 day ticket is like $3 7 to 10 is like $10 for adults- and can be added at any time. Don't hesitate to go into the parks for even a short time- the cost is minimal. Also you can use your dining plan for sit downs for any meal. ALthough most people use them for dinners or character breakfasts in order to get the most bang for the buck they are equally good for lunches. You will probably have no problem getting last minute PS for lunches. Finally if the kids have a melt down you can still use cs meals for food from your resort for a dinner in the room.

Also, you aren't limited on how many of the meals you can use in a day. So if you wanted to use a TS for lunch and then another TS for dinner (or 2 for a signature restaurant) you could do all of that in one day... and then use multiple counter services on another day.
