Dining Plan

I believe you if you are still staying ON Disney property for your split stay you CAN do their Dining Plan. Although if you do split stay OFF property such as the Sheraton Vistana or similar like US then.... No. I asked DVC MS because our split stay will be - BCV then Sheraton then back to BCV. Still they reply, " Your entire stay must be on Disney property."

Yes you must be on Disney property to get the dining plan. But my question is can I get it for half of a split stay? If I stay at one dvc all week do I have to have it for the entire week?

You must get the dining plan for all occupants for the length of a reservation. A split stay is considered two resevations, so you can get the dinibg plan for one, two or all reservations.

be sure that you understand that unless you actually change room types or resorts, it is not counted as a split-stay. if you book a 3 night stay in a lake view studio and then book another 4 night stay in a lake view studio and want to book the dining plan, you will have to book it for all 7 nights for every person on the reservation.

I would recommend looking into the Tables in Wonderland card instead. We find it to be a much better value than the dining plan and using it allows us to get eactly what we want instead of being locked into entree/drink/dessert.

I understand it takes $500 to make the TIW worth your purchase. Is that correct? With just DH and I am not sure it would be worth it. With my parents I am sure it would be though.

That is true, but keep in mind the TIW card is good for 13 months. We usually get two trips on one card. I like it over the DDP because I can eat what I want. If I prefer a salad and an appetizer as my meal that is okay. And sometimes I like a glass of wine or a beer. Adult beverages are also discounted by the TIW. However not every restaurant and very few quick service accept the TIW card. Also if you eat separate meals from your parents then their meals would not be discounted. I would check the TIW website to see what is covered before deciding.

We are trying the TIW card for our trip in Jan. We have always done DDP simply for the convience of having meals paid for prior to going but, as others have posted, wanted more freedom to order things not covered by the plan.

When we looked at it for our next trip (3 adults, 1 kid, 1 baby for 1 week) we determined we would save about $100-150 over the DDP. And this let us order appetizers and adult beverages.
