Dining Plan ?

We are going to WDW with friends of ours in November. They are on the DDP and will have some extra meal credits left over, so they said we could eat with them and use their leftover meal credits. Is this allowed if we are all eating together, even though we won't be staying in the same room as them and won't technically be on their dining plan?

No, you can't, as they will only be allowed to order enough meals for them.

Disney has a written rule in the dining plan brochures that states dining credits are not to be redeemed to supply meals for persons who are not on the plan.

This is 100% NOT allowed. They can't order more meals than are listed on the room key card anyway, so you will need to pay OOP for your meals. Just let the waiter know who is on the plan and who isn't prior to ordering and they will happily split up the checks.

This used to be allowed, but Disney cracked down on it. The brochure clearly states you can not use your meal entitlements for anyone not on the plan and waiters have posted that they are no longer allowed to try to get around the rules. Their room key will say how many people are in that room, so if it says 2A 2C. They will not be allowed to order more than two adult meals and 2 child's meals at one time.
