We are bringing family members to BCV for an upcoming vacation. They are not DVC members. Can I buy the dining plan for them? :confused3 We don't want the dining plan ourselves because we are AP holders and have the DDE card. Thanks so much.

If they are in the same room as you, then everyone must be on the plan.

If they are in a separate room, then yes, you can add the dining plan to their room and not yours.

In otherwords, if you are in a studio and they are in a studio, yes, you can get the DDP for them and not for you. If you are all in a two bedroom unit together (even if it is a lockoff), then no, it is everyone or no one.

Provided, of course, that your friends are staying on your points. If they are paying cash, they would still be eligible but they'd have to be paying an appropriate room rate (usually rack), and they'd have the one-day park pass requirement. They would not be eligible, for example, if you got them an AP discounted room.

You -- incidentally -- can use DDP regardless of your AP/DDE status, if you want. With a points ressie, you don't have to buy park tickets, and you can use the DDE in conjunction with DDP for non-DDP items like adult beverages.

Thanks. We have 2 rooms - but one person in teh bedroom doesn't want to do it. Oh well.

You could register the person who doesn't "want' the dining plan in your room, assuming you don't go over the occupancy rules.

But wouldn't they need a key to their room? Keys have the names of the individual printed o them.

Hmmmmm.....good point! I didn't think of that! :confused3 I suppose they could always plan to be with another one of the folks in their room who DID have a key.
